Q: How large is the actual opening? I am thinking to use this for cat litter disposal, and wonder what size scoop would be able to push open the flap to dump clumps into bag.

A: They came out with one for cats called the litter genie

A: We have only tested the Diaper Genie pails for newborn diaper usage. The Diaper Genie Classic can hold up to 55 new born diapers.

DO NOT BUY
TERRIBLE. Flawed design. The pedal opens the top but you have to push the diaper through a small lid which inevitably leads to poop getting all over with big diapers. If u push too hard it pushes the top through too and falls to the bottom of the can with gross diaper trash. It is awfully designed. I bought 3 of them and have had the same issue with every one. It smells awful once that happens. Overall just super inefficient, I tried to save money with this one, not worth it, at all. Now I have to return 3 diaper pails. So unfortunate.
