Q: What’s the difference between the diaper genie select and the diaper genie platinum?

  • A: Diaper Genie Platinum is truly "no hands". Foot pedal opens both lid & door that conseals the bottom part of the bag. Select foot pedal opens lid only. Diaper must be pushed through door.

  • A: Both Diaper Genie Select and Platinum pails are made out of stainless steel. Diaper Genie Select is a shorter in height versus the Platinum. It works with square refills, and does not contain carbon filters. Diaper Genie Platinum, is higher and works with the EasyRoll refill system (easy tear off bags) and includes a carbon filter.

Q: Does the Diaper Genie Platinum seal each diaper in a separate bag?

  • A: The Diaper Genie Platinum does not seal each diaper individually. It uses easy roll bags, which are easy tear off multi-layer bags. Once the bag is full with diapers, you can empty the bag out by making a knot at the top and tearing off the bottom to start a new one.

    Worth the price!

    Super easy to change the bag and does keep the smell in. It does feel a bit wasteful with the huge bags because we take it out every 5ish days and it’s never even close to 1/3 full. The style where it bags each diaper individually seems less wasteful. But overall, like this so much better than the Ubbi!

    Not worth it.

    Be warned: this will frustrate you and your most irritable moments. The foot pedal falls off when you need it most, and when you go to change a bag that's more than halfway full, there are plastic pieces that rip open the side of the bag. Had for about 9 months and definitely would go another direction if able to go back in time. Odor control is almost nonexistent.
