Future of diaper pails

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved this pail overall. I have a very small room for my daughter with limited space between the dresser and the wall. The narrowness of this pail was perfect for the space I had and I love how sleek it looks with the metal shine. It definitely blends into the room more than my other wider plastic pail. The foot pedal was great once I got it installed correctly. At first, I hadn't pushed it in all the way so it kept falling out. That was an easy fix though and has been great ever since. The soft closing lid is so quiet and never makes a sound when I dispose of the diapers. I can't believe I ever used a pail that didn't have this. The initial set up was fairly easy and replacing the bags is self explanatory. I love that each bag has a tear spot and it's so easy to rip it off for the next bag. While I do love that feature, sometimes I want to replace bags more often before it would get totally full and then I feel like I'm wasting a lot of bag space since you can't control where you are tearing off the bag. Usually I can drop a diaper in the pail without touching the bag, but once it gets close to the top, I have to push the diaper in there and my hands have gotten soiled from a diaper that I had put in there previously that I hadn't wrapped as well. Again, it's something I can avoid by wrapping the diapers better, but I feel like I have to replace the bags more often so I don't have to push the diapers down towards the end. The bag also gets very heavy when I fill it up and try to take it out to refill. I don't think I can get as many diapers as advertised because of those issues but not a deal breaker. In terms of the odor control, I do find that it protects against that better than my other pail, but it's also hard to tell with it being such a new pail. I can definitely smell the diaper smell when I open the pail, but once it's shut, the scent goes away immediately and doesn't linger. Overall, this is a great pail and prefer this one to the one I had been using. I appreciate Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me one to try.

Great diaper pail

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Diaper Genie Platinum Pail was a breath of fresh air, I mean this literally because of the great odor control it has. It was a very easy set up and the diapers bags are wonderful because they have a perforated line so the bag can be cut with ease. The one step foot pedal was also great because I didn’t have to touch the diaper pail as much. I really appreciate that the diaper pail lid has a soft close mechanism so it doesn’t scare my little or anyone else in the house. There was one thing I had an issue with, the diaper bag is fed from the bottom of the pail, when you initially pull the first diaper bag from the bag container, to the top which can be great, unfortunately I’m a short woman (5’2”) with short arms and I had difficulty reaching the bag from the bottom to feed it to the top of the pail. I have to use a grip apparatus to pull the bag from the bottom to the top. With all that being said, I still think is one of the best diaper pails around. Such a great pail for any new or experienced parent/caregiver. I received the product free of charge from Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review.

Stinky situations

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With two under two, I’m left with a lot of soiled diapers. Thanks to the stellar product testing panel for giving me the opportunity to review the Diaper Genie Platinum Pail. I love the color and overall look of this pail. It looked nicely in my nursery and didn’t look misplaced. The quality of the pail is nice and it did a great job of keeping the odors locked in the pail when the lid was secured. However, when the pail was opened or we needed to change the bag, the odor smacked us in the face. I also found that the bags were not as durable as I anticipated them being. When I was lifting the bag to remove it, the bag ripped making the diapers collapse into the pail itself which made the process complicated. I had a hard time removing the soiled diapers with ease. I think the best feature of this pail is its look and attributes of eco friendly design, but the accessibility and ease of switching out the bags could definitely be reconsidered. If odor control was what the brand was going for, I do think that was accomplished as I never felt like the odor was overbearing when not in use.

A High End Diaper Pail It really does exist

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Diaper Genie Platinum is like the Maserati of diaper pails. While its function of holding all those stinky diapers is pretty gross, it sure makes the job seem easier by its sleek appearance and features. The diaper genie platinum is stainless steel vs plastic which is great for eliminating another piece of plastic from the house. The color options are also beautiful. The blue matches perfectly in our master bedroom. With a newborn (3 month old) he spends a lot of time in our room still so it’s just easier to keep a diaper pail close by. The downfall is having a diaper pail in our bedroom. Since switching to the platinum I don’t even notice a smell though! And its sleek design helps it not be an eye sore in our bedroom. With 3 kids l’ve been using diaper pails awhile. I love the diaper genie brand and this new design is by far superior. The appearance is great so it fits in, even in a nice space. The foot pedal is great and a must so you can dispose hands free. The bags in this pail are different. So you have a stock of the bags in the circular containers use them up before you switch! The new bags hold a lot more diapers and are thicker which is nice. The only downfall is they load in from the bottom so when replacing you have to flip the pail over. Overall, this is a great diaper pail. It blocked unwanted odors effectively, looked great, and functioned with ease! I highly recommend this diaper pail to anyone with little ones in the stinky diaper stage! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this diaper pail. Pros: *Beautiful, even for a diaper pail! *Holds a lot diapers *Effectively controls odors *Easy to use *Foot pedal for hands free tossing Cons: *Bags are inserted in the bottom

Diaper Changing Life Changing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This diaper pail has changed my life! I never knew how much I hated changing out the bag in my other pail until I tried this one out. I also didn't realize how a metal pail would improve the experience and look. It is classier and feels much nicer and helps keep a nice look to the rest of the room that we have the pail in - in this case our laundry room next to our washing machine and dryer. Since it is metal, it matches in with other appliances much better. The soft close lid is also nice for quality and preventing more noise in our already noisy days. Some things I would change would be regarding odor control and overall pail size. The odor control seemed less effective than our previous pail, with a lot of odor being released every time the pail is opened. We have the room for a much larger pail (and bag size) so a larger one would also have been preferred for the amount of diapers we are tossing every day for a 11 month old and 2 year old. If the same technology could be implemented in a larger pail and bag, that would be amazing! I was able to test this diaper pail thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great diaper pail. I love that it’s stainless steel which makes it very lightweight and easy to clean. My favorite part is the foot petal and wide opening. Our last diaper pail was a hand opening and small circle opening and I did not like that style at all. The hands free method is for sure best. I feel like it holds the odor in really well and the bags hold a lot. Thank you to the stellar product testing panel for this gift.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the pleasure of testing out the new Diaper Genie Platinum Pail courtesy of the Stellar Testing Panel, in exchange for my honest opinions. I have used Diaper Genie since my first child was born 12 years ago. My first pail was great and held up until about 6 months ago, so I jumped at the chance to try out this latest version. The Platinum Pail feels much more solid and sturdy than prior versions of Diaper Genie that have been on the flimsy feeling side. I also love the new grayish blue color of this new pail. Some other things I noticed is that it’s much easier to do the one handed diaper dump and diapers don’t get stuck at the entrance to the pail. It’s also very responsive to the foot pedal for opening and love the gentle close lid that’s so silent! I was excited to have a much larger bag inside the genie even though the actual genie has negligible size differences compared to the original. With prior Diaper Genies, I have to change out the dirty diaper bag weekly, if not more frequently. With this one, I’ve been using it for a couple weeks and still haven’t needed to take out the bag. Surprisingly, there isn’t any smell when I put new diapers in, either! The only thing I needed to get used to was the new bagging system. It took a second to figure out how to put the new bag in and I have a bunch of old bag canisters left and can’t use them in this one but the pros definitely out way this one inconvenience. Overall, I highly recommend this gorgeous, efficient new product from Diaper Genie.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Diaper Genie Platinum as part of The Stellar Product Testing Panel and am so glad I did! I have tried every diaper pail out there and always have some issue with each one, but this diaper pail is actually perfect. It’s like Diaper Genie listened to all my complaints and took them into account when making this product. The design and look of the pail are very sleek. It’s made of stainless steel so it feels much more well built and durable than most plastic pails. Also the refills are so easy to use. They load in the bottom of the pail and simply come up through the top once full, eliminating the need to awkwardly drag a full bag of diapers out an opening in the front. Additionally, Diaper Genie has greatly improved on their previous diaper catch system which used to take up quite a bit of space in the pail. Now there is an airtight opening at the top that the diapers go into and much more space for diapers in the pail. I absolutely love this new diaper pail and plan to gift it to any family and friends who are having babies too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the way this diaper pail looks. The stainless steel and blue color make it much more aesthetically pleasing sitting out in the open. Changing the bag is very easy and convenient, and so is the foot pedal. The soft close lid was a bonus, so there was no worrying about tiny fingers getting smashed when they wanted to “help.” My only con to this pail is that we could still smell the yucky diaper smell when we opened it. If we only put urine diapers in, then we have no issues, so that is how we have been using it. While it can be annoying to not be able to put all the diapers in, this is a suitable happy medium for us. Thank you, Stellar Product Testing Panel, for the opportunity to try this.

Fashionable Diaper Pail

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this diaper pail to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This diaper pail looks much nicer than the white plastic pail we previously had and I love that you can pick different colors to match your decor. The durability and quality of this steel pail is ten fold compared to our other ones. The odor control is amazing and I can honestly say prior to getting this one I could immediately tell if a diaper had been put in the pail and now I can't tell it's full until I go to put a diaper in it! The only downside to this pail was that I feel like you have to push the diapers down slightly to get them through the flap rather than just dropping them in, which can be gross if it's a messy diaper. The pedal was easy to use, however did require a good amount of pressure to fully press down and open the inner flap wide enough to put a diaper through, which could be a good thing if you didn't want kids to get into it. My favorite feature of the pail is the easy tear refill roll that made changing the bag so much more simple (no more tying the bag at the bottom) compared to previous pails, and I dont have to constantly change the refill disc or try to get the bag started! The fact that nothing was sacrificed for the eco friendly benefits is a major plus as well!

Odor free nursery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Diaper Genie Platinum Pail is a sleekly designed solution to your diaper odor problems. The pail is aesthetically pleasing in any room and the stainless steel container traps odor like no other pail I’ve previously used. The stainless steel design really helps trap the unpleasant odor of soiled diapers. This thoughtfully designed pail is easy to load with bags and has a hands free pedal to open without having to touch the pail. This high capacity pail limits the amount of times you have to empty the pail. My only con is that I wish you could use any trash bag in the pail. Overall, I would highly recommend this well designed pail. Thank you Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with the opportunity to test such an amazing product.

Great looking pail

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pail looks and feels like a premium product. I've previously used a cheaper plastic pail with our first child that... Pales in comparison to this one in every way. The finish of the Diaper Genie is just great, and due to how well it blocks odor, it wouldn't even look (or smell) out of place in a living room if you're a bit lazy like me and often change your baby outside of a nursery. It was incredibly simple to put together - the most challenging part was realizing that the included bags were already in the pail itself! Even the foot pedal to open the pail feels satisfying to open. It's honestly so smooth that it might by my favorite feature of the pail. No crazy-forceful opening swing, and a gentle (and quiet) close. Once it's closed, it's just a pretty-looking cannister with a foot pedal. It blocks odor and looks attractive enough that you don't have to feel remotely self-conscious having this pail wherever you end up putting it. I was given this diaper pail to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Odor control flaw but mostly great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to try this diaper pail as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, but I would say it fell short of expectations. I'll go through all the features and my thoughts on them: 1. The Look: The diaper pail is definitely the most aesthetically pleasing diaper pail I've seen. The color is an icy blue and the stainless steel makes it almost look like a part of the decor rather than a necessary evil. The height is also super convenient so I'm not bending over to throw out diapers. 2. The Soft Close Door: I would say this is probably the worst feature of the pail. When the door opens, the odor containing clamps also open, so it not only releases the odor into the room for longer than other diaper pails, but the soft close really wafts it into the room. I would much prefer a pail that I can close quickly to keep in odor. 3. Odor Control: The odor control when the pail is opened (even for a second) is much worse than other diaper pails. However, the odor control when the pail is closed is far better. The room day to day does not smell, and the bags and carbon filter do seem to prevent the odor from seeping in to the pail itself like I've seen with other pails. 4. Bags: I do like the bags themselves - I think they add to the odor control. However, in order to put the bag cartridge in you have to flip the whole pail upside down which is a bit annoying. Each cartridge does seem to last a very long time so this is a minimal inconvenience. 5. Hands Free: The foot pedal to open the top is great. However, the bag clamps don't really let you drop the diaper in hands free. With rare exception, I still had to push the diaper in (the diaper itself wasn't heavy enough to open the clamps). Not a huge deal for me. 6: Eco Friendly: I can definitely fit more diapers in this pail than other pails, so I appreciate helping put fewer bags into the dump. Overall - I would say I had super high hopes for odor control so the soft close door ended up being a let down. But I still think I prefer this diaper pail to others I've used.

Convenient and Effective Odor Control

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this diaper pail. First impressions were that I love the classic light blue coloring of it. Very sleek color and design to fit in with a variety of nursery designs and thin enough that it could fit in many areas. I also love that it's not plastic but instead stainless steel, it truly gives it a much better aesthetic and I believe in the long run will make it more durable as well. I will be the first to admit I was a little skeptical of using a diaper pail and never did with my son because I always worried about what odors would escape and linger in the nursery. This diaper pail has changed my mind. I have filled this to its capacity and still not an odor as lingered. That's an A+ in my book! I'm officially a believer. Join that will the convenience of it being right there, having a rather large storage capacity and being able to operate it with just the push of my foot, absolutely wonderful! Once in a while a diaper is pretty light and may seem to not have enough weight to get through hands free but I just give it a light amount of toss power and it goes right through. This diaper pail is super easy to get the bags set up and replaced and the new dispensing/bag design being more eco-friendly and using less plastic makes that another plus in favor of it. I have to say though my favorite feature over all is the ability to conveniently and effectively control odor, as for me this is the most important part of any type of diaper pail. Overall, I absolutely would recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This diaper pail is a game changer! I love the foot pedal, and I love how tall the pail is, it makes it easy to get the diaper in the bin and keep my hands on my baby. The odor control is really good on this, which is really important to me because my nursery is in my bedroom. The only thing is it took me a minute to figure out how to set it up and get used to it but now that I have used it for a while it’s really simple. Also you really have to use the brands bags, but I have found that using the appropriate fitting bag is less wasteful than using a regular whole garbage bag, which you never fill up before you have to take out the poops, which I was doing before with my old diaper pail that took any bag. The best part though is, it’s cute! I have the blue color which is really muted and goes well with my room. Overall, I think this is a pretty perfect diaper pail. I received this product as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest feedback.

Nice size and odor control but not hands free

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is a lot that I like about this diaper pail. I like the color (we have the blue). I like the stainless steel material it’s made out of. I like how the bags insert and fill from the bottom. I think that the odor control is really good. But I have been frustrated at the same time because it is not hands-free as it claims to be. We always have to push diapers down and sometimes we have to push pretty hard which is defeats the purpose of having a hands-free diaper pail. Others in my household who have tried to use it confirm that they’ve had the same problem. I received this diaper pail as part of the stellar product, testing panel, in exchange, for my honest review.
