Q: What’s the difference between the diaper genie select and the diaper genie platinum?

  • A: Diaper Genie Platinum is truly "no hands". Foot pedal opens both lid & door that conseals the bottom part of the bag. Select foot pedal opens lid only. Diaper must be pushed through door.

  • A: Both Diaper Genie Select and Platinum pails are made out of stainless steel. Diaper Genie Select is a shorter in height versus the Platinum. It works with square refills, and does not contain carbon filters. Diaper Genie Platinum, is higher and works with the EasyRoll refill system (easy tear off bags) and includes a carbon filter.

Q: Does the Diaper Genie Platinum seal each diaper in a separate bag?

  • A: The Diaper Genie Platinum does not seal each diaper individually. It uses easy roll bags, which are easy tear off multi-layer bags. Once the bag is full with diapers, you can empty the bag out by making a knot at the top and tearing off the bottom to start a new one.

Unused but set up

Works well so far!

We are three weeks in, and our Diaper Genie has done its job...having the box of bags at the bottom makes it easier to put in a new bag, and we change it out twice a week - every time the trash truck comes! My brother gave us a trick to roll the diaper tight, so more fit in the diaper genie, but we still empty it - does a nice job to contain smells, but nothing is ever perfect...just move the whole container to the door (or outside!) when switching bags.

Design is incredible

After setup, which is simple, using the genie is a wonderfully simple experience. Our genie is in our bedroom while our newborn still needs night feeds, and there isn’t any odor or issues!

Arrived Damaged

Extremely disappointed in the delivery of this item. It was not in stock in stores and I had to select shipping and it arrived severely dented on both sides. I would hope that an $80 product would have been shipped in better packaging to avoid this type of damage. I would like a replacement, but am worried it would also arrive just as damaged.
