Disney Descendants: The Rise of Red – The Sorcerer's Cookbook with Chloe Doll, Fizz, Slime & Doll Reveal Surprises

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s been rainy the past couple days and my son and his friends decided to open the Disney Descendant book with slime! They were so excited to play with it. Once you open the book they have little compartments and easy to use instructions especially for my littles. My son enjoyed making the slime and bonus it came with a cute doll that his sister snatched up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids really enjoyed opening and playing with this box and doll. The case was really well designed. "Recipes" are inside the case and easy to understand. The items used for the recipes are useful, so I didn't mind the kids wanting to keep them. After the doll is revealed, the case can be used to store decent sized keepsakes. There is also a fun 90s style surprise on the back of the case that was really fun to share with the kids. Overall, both kids loved it and would like to purchase the other cookbook.

Not only is my child a fan of descendants she loved the surprises and how you have to actively open items to play. With a little help with the directions it made it enjoyable. Last but not least the big surprise of a doll at the end. The book case also makes a great keepsake!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Descendants package offers a variety of activities from a fizz ball and slime kit to a cute Descendants doll. The book looks like a spell book and houses the doll and parts. The fizz ball needs to be soaked to reveal a key, which is then used to open the book and unlock the Descendants doll. There is no storage container for the slime, so my kids threw it away after playing with it for a day or two. The doll is fairly basic and bends at the neck, arms (at the shoulder), and legs (at the hip). Overall, my 11 and 5 year old kids loved this kit and enjoyed the different activities offered in it. They are keeping the spell book case to use as a decoration this Halloween. They hope to get other dolls in this set!

My daughter loved following the recipe steps to create the slime and then revealing the key to unlock the Chloe Charming doll at the end. Your child may need some guidance since it involves water and mixing. My daughter said the directions were easy to follow and that it only took about 2 minutes to create the slime but a little longer than 6 minutes to reveal the key in the bath bomb. It can get a little messy throughout the process but it was overall a fun experience and the doll is very well made!

We loved that it was sensory based, the boys loved making the slime; it also helped entertain them while waiting for the second recipe to break down, the doll is great quality; we loved her hair, absolutely beautiful. The only thing we didn’t really like was the back, it was a bit flimsy and when siblings were curious about what was in the secret compartment they would try to pry through the back. Other than that, everything was great quality; the book has been used time and time again, to hide secret treasures and such! Definitely recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Disney Descendants the cookbook was a hit with my son! It had clear, easy to follow instructions with pictures. The slime was sticky at first but as you played with it formed a nice, “putty” type of slime. There was no included container for the slime once it’s made, but a baggie works just fine. My son enjoying the potion portion of the cookbook the most, as it fizzed and overflowed out of the plastic crown bowl. They provide a plastic tray to set the crown in to minimize mess and it was surprisingly effective. The fizzy ball (bath bomb like) took a few minutes to dissolve, but my son happily helped it along by poking it. There was a key left after the fizzy potion was done and opened a door to reveal the doll. The doll is well made and comes with some accessories which change color when placed in water. The cookbook is well made and now houses my son’s “treasures” that he can now keep safe under lock and key. This cookbook was full of fun and made for a delightful Sunday morning.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a fun toy from the start. We made our own slime and that was a big hit. It was so much fun watching the powder turn to slime! The fizzy bomb was not too great as the little mixing pot provided did not contain enough room for it to fully disolve so we just dumped the water out and put fresh water in and it still dissolved to reveal the sectrwt key. All in all this was a dun cookbook for my child and theybhad fun opening each compartment to reveal thrir beautiful blue hair doll at rhe end.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, the way the toy is presented is beautiful! I loved the packaging and all the details to really make it stand out. When we opened it up, we were surprised we had activities to complete to get the key to unlock the doll. Each activity had instructions that were easy to follow and kept my kids’ attention. We had so much fun that we almost forgot there was a doll lol! When we got the key to unlock her cover, we opened it up and she was exactly as pictured. This gift had a lot of aspects that would appeal to almost any kid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a fun unboxing and play experience for our family! The kids worked together to follow each of the two magic spell recipes. They first made slime and then found the secret key. They were just as excited to do the spells as they were to find the doll. As Descendants fans, they are also keeping the book and key to pretend play with their own spells and concoctions! Great fun with little mess.

The doll hair quality was excellent! We enjoyed playing with spells. My only complaint is the smell of the potion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kiddos are constantly coming up with potions and mixtures on their own and this activity didn't disappoint. As soon as we opened what looked like a large book, my 7-yr-old was greeted by large, easy-to-follow graphics explaining their way through the recipes. The slime packet was easy to open and mixed pretty quickly. It was fun to watch it come together but the amount was so small that it was kind of a one and done. The fizzy bomb for the potion was pretty cool but it did get hard at the end and we eventually had to take it out and break it manually to get the charm out to open the lock; not a big deal. They enjoyed the experience. The doll was as expected for this kind of toy but my kid was more into it for the experiments. When all said and done, this was something they enjoyed doing and would do again if given the opportunity.

One is slime which I was a little concerned about but it ended up being great! The slime isn’t sticky at all and stays together. The second one is a fizzy bath bomb type of ball. You place it in water and out pops the key to unlock the last surprise door which is your doll! The doll is really well made. The hair is soft and the outfit is adorable. The shoes are easy to get on and off and the belt comes off and color changes in warm/cold water! Overall this toy is excellent and even after you reveal everything the “cookbook” is super cute to put on display!

My daughter (5yo) loves mixing things, making potions, and having surprises result and this was right up her alley! The packaging was great and easy to open. Inside held “recipes” that were easy to follow and the mixing cup shaped like a crown with the mixing stick was so cute! I especially loved (as a parent) that this came WITH a tray to mix in to avoid any messes! While the key to open the doors was small, my daughter loved the fact that it was a “clock” following the theme of the new movie! The recipes were easy to follow and while directions noted it would take 6 minutes to complete, it went by fast due to the “magic” happening which added to her excitement. The doll!!! The craftsmanship was excellent. Her hair was so soft and her outfit was on point! The belt that came with the doll was supposed to color change in hot/cold water, but it did not work for us. A very small minor thing in consideration of the full item, but worth mentioning for the little ones who get excited about that. Overall this has a LOT of the elements that keep kids busy and engaged: potion recipes, mixing, surprises, and unlocking special doors!

The doll goes everywhere with my daughter. We were able to make the recipes in the book with little to no mess. I loved the tray that was included to make the recipes. The unboxing was super fun! My daughter loves the box being a book. She loves the clothes, hair, and the reveal process. I am glad there was more than one recipe to make. The instructions were very clear. My daughter does wish the watch was a little bigger and there was an actual sward. The fizzy to get the watch to reveal the doll could have gone a little faster. We're so in love this this doll!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy was very interactive and lots of fun. The first step was to make a blue slime. The second step was a "bath bomb" concept to get a key and the third was to unlock the doll and change her belt color. It was a very neat experience and my 4 year old was excited to do it and able to follow the steps independently. I only wish there was a recipe card included with common household goods to encourage future fun rather than most being a one time thing. For example, an easy at home slime recipe or vinegar/baking soda potion with the same enchanted theme. Yes we can do these things on our own but it is more fun when the toy encourages the kids to do it. The doll itself is nice, and good quality. My kids enjoy playing with it and the belt changes color in different water temperatures. It does keep them entertained. Besides the doll, the rest of the pieces are essentially single use. Although some kids may use the story book to store things. Overall we enjoyed this item and I would recommend it. The entire process from open to being done was about 30 minutes. The slime did last a few hours before drying out but of course you could store it properly to last longer.

The storage box is cute. 4 Stars from childs perspective 2.5 Stars from parent perspective. She struggled getting everything to line up in order to open it but overall she really liked it.

The unpacking process is interactive, and my daughter loved doing the fun experiments. All over this was a hit and I would buy this as a gift to give any girl who loves dolls!

The process of unpacking it and mixing the different ingredients was so fun. We would highly recommend this toy! The packaging is even reusable to store the doll and items that came with it.
