This naturally occuring amino alcohol is produced in minuscule amounts by the brain, with higher concentrations being typically found in anchovies and sardines. Known primarily as a precursor to choline and acetylcholine (chemicals in the brain responsible for nerve transmissions and cognitive function), DMAE has been used most predominantly to improve memory and focus while stimulating neural activity. I think I like it!
Tough call on most mood enhancer supplements. I prefer to call this a motivation enhancer. I think I feel more gung-ho and go-to-it. Not a bad thing at all.

DMAE has proven to me to be an excellent provider of physical and mental energy. No jitters or crash after a few hours. Simply a natural increase in physical and mental power throughout the day. I take one capsule as part of my high performance nutritional supplement program. I have used DMAE for quite a while, and I plan to keep it as part of my daily regimen. No downside. Good stuff. I think better when taking this.
My wife and I take DMAE because it keeps us from being slow or dense. Our thinking processes work clearer; our brains focus and function better. Recently, not going into a job daily, I got out of the habit of taking it in the morning, and after a few weeks, I notice that it is harder to draw up a word, or a name, to form a coherent and clear plan of action. So I got back on it! So I recommend this strength for adults so they can stay on top of their game, and a weaker strength for children to help them in school to focus and do well in studies. My mom benefits from it also and she is in her 90's, and it helps her function noticeably better when she takes it as opposed to being off it for a few weeks. My family loves DMAE!

Magnesium Stearate
This brand of DMAE contains magnesium stearate as one of the listed inactive ingredients. Educate yourselves on the potentially harmful effects of magnesium stearate before you continue using this product. I would use Swanson's brand of DMAE which is just as potent, contains harmless inactive ingredients, and is cheaper. Works perfectly for me.

Clear Brain Fog for us Professional Gen Xers
Simply put, my work/profession is very demanding on my brain. Now that I'm in my early 40s I notice I do have brain-fog days, which I just cannot have to be competitive. Taking one tablet gives me back my clear-minded brain within the hour. I've used DMAE regularly for the last two years, and it is wonderful. I've tried dozens of different herbal brain formulas and other herbs, aminos, etc. and none of them give me the clarity of mind that plain DMAE does. I really like the NOW Foods brand. I have celiac sprue and have a sensitive stomach, and I have never had any problems with taking the NOW Foods products (of course, I always select items that do not have glutens). A few vitamin brands tend to make my stomach queasy, and NOW never does that to me.
