Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - Nintendo Switch

Seriously Nintendo how many years of people's lives have you wasted in the last generation of gaming on remasters. People waited years and years for new games after the Wii U and instead you just re-released most of the Wii U games again (Mario Kart, Smash, Donkey Kong) because the Wii U didn't "take" like you thought it would. So, you rebranded it as a 3DS/Wii U hybrid and re sold the same games again to a new audience- genius! If you had released a few good games but with better graphics (like Wind Waker) it might have been okay. But instead we have piles of this unplayable slop nobody asked for, and sold for full price too. If there isn't something groundbreaking by the time the Switch 2 comes around you'll lose for sure to mobile gaming and other consoles actually putting in effort into games. I waited almost 10 years for ingenuity and got nothing but these Remakes until the last few years. Donkey Kong should be so much better and is laughably terrible compared to other platformers. It should be open world and 3D like it was on the N64. Until then I'll be telling everyone not to buy Swith games since they're just low effort reskins.

This game can be fun but the unresponsive controls make it ridiculously hard. I don’t understand how a young child would pass this game if it’s ridiculously hard for an adult. I would rate this higher if the difficulty more manageable. It makes the game u enjoyable.

My son had so much fun playing this game.My other son played it as well and loved it.This game really entartains the children.

Pros: graphics and music; clever level themes Cons: drumming is the same button as roll; main campaign is too short; “optional” content is mostly too repetitive, frustrating, uninventive, and unrewarding to be worthwhile; many cheap ways to die; unresponsive controls; enemies as a whole are unintimidating; hitboxes are often unpredictable; Funky Kong sounds very strange

From great level design, stellar soundtrack, and intense but fun difficulty, this game is the best 2D platformer you can find out there and a must-have for people of all ages!

Donkey Kong Country was one of Nintendo's best games and theny managed to kill it.

It's been fun, but for my 6yr old and I it's not easy. We've played several times and haven't gotten far. It's mostly us I'm sure.

Love this game! The graphics are amazing. Quite a bit more challenging than the Super Nintendo Donkey Kong. If you’re a DK fan you’ll enjoy it.

We love this game, graphics are beautiful, vivid colors and it is a challenging game, but with patience we managed to unlock all the levels and beat it. My 5 year old has mastered many levels, he is able to jump, climb, swing not problem. Very happy with this purchase!

I loved the Donkey Kong Country games for the other Nintendo systems, I knew I would like this on as well. It doesn't disappoint. In true DK Country fashion, it's a fun game!

controls are horrible and you have to push and old down multiple buttons at once to do a simple task. this game isn't kid friendly or user friendly. whoever made this game should be fired. it's beyond frustrating and not enjoyable to play.

The levels are pretty long and so fun! You can play alone but it’s more exciting playing with someone else. My boyfriend and I play as DK & Diddy Kong & he can put me on his back. It’s not the exact same as the original but the graphics are still great!

A fun game to share with my two boys. I grew up playing the classics and I am happy to spread that along to my kids. The graphics are fantastic without being over the top.It really looks like a better and updated version of donkey kong country. The music and sound effects are spot on and adds to the setting of each stage. Easy to enjoy for hours.

This is a gift for Christmas so I have not actually played this game. I have played other Donkey Kong games and they have been great, so I have no doubt that this one will be great too. My review is just to say that I'm happy with the price of the game. And also, I ordered it online and it came earlier than the initial estimated delivery date.

If I wanted to play a horrible version of flappy bird, than I would just do that. Some of the game is really fun, but I hated the rocket barrel with a passion. Made me quit playing more than once.
