I've used this brand of soap for over a decade. They've done something to it that has made it smell awful (and it's supposed to be unscented.) Can no longer use it but wish the company would go back to the original formula.

I'm with the reviewer above me. Something has clearly changed. I've been using Dove for Sensitive Skin for 45 years now. The last batch I purchased (large one at BJs) has a TERRIBLE ODOR to it. Almost like a VOA smell. (Like I'm in a nail salon). I thought I got a bad batch but after reading that last review I can say it's not me. I hope it goes back to the original formula or I have to find a new soap to use. Why do things keep having to get made more toxic instead of safer? I will be contacting customer service.

Was using Caress soap but they put something in it that I reacted to. I could not use the regular Dove. Tried Dove Sensitive and been using ever since.

The formula has changed for the worse over the past couple of months and the bar is also smaller. This was the only soap I can use, but since the change my skin has become extremely dry, flakey, and itchy. I’ve been using this soap for years and it’s extremely disappointing that they’ve changed it.

I have used this soap for over ten years and loved it. I recently purchased two different packages, with two different lots, from two different retailers, and both smelled horrendous, like mold. I had to wrap them in plastic because they smelled so strong. My entire family agrees that they smell disgusting.

I've bought just the regular sensitive skin Dove fir 20+ years, because I have allergies to fragrances. This new Dove has an additional moisturizer added, and it smells different and it doesn't agree with my body or my face!!!! I search all over fir the packaging that DOES NOT have the moisturizer highlighted in gold. Most of the retail establishments only carry the moisturizer highlighted soap. I've used Dove instead of Ivory Soap, because it didn't leave a film or dry out my skin. Dove had the right combination. Something has clearly changed and it looks like I'll have to go back to Ivory soap!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ORIGINAL SENSITIVE VERSION????

I've used this sensitive bar for years. This time the soap has an unusual and, frankly, unpleasant odor. Wish I hadn't bought the 12 bar pack.

please read this entire thing. so, i got hooked on dove about three months ago after using the sensitive bar soap at a friends house. i rm they told me that’s all they used and they had glass skin. i used it on my face & body & it cleared the huge pimple i had on my face literally overnight - had my face looking like GLASS. faded all my scars with 4 days of persistent use. so fast forward, i go home & continue using my regular cleanser which i run out of, about a few weeks later. i make an order online and go to buy that sensitive bar soap but i notice the packaging is different than what my friend had (they had the older looking kind, they had just bought it that day it was a 4 pack) & didn’t buy it fearing that maybe it was a different formula and didn’t want to risk a break out since i have sensitive skin. i end up just using a cleanser i have in my cabinet which was making my skin feel rough & one night walked to the corner store near me and bought a regular dove bar for my face (not the sensitive kind). the bar was clearly older (the design on the box was not new.) but my mom used dove my whole life and would have boxes sitting under the cabinet for a year plus and would use them and her face was always clear. anywho, i used it and the bar was amazing, i had little to no breakouts the entire month that i used the bar from the corner store which was clearly older. now, once that bar ran out i go ahead and order the sensitive bar. when i buy it and open it, it’s extremely small and smells completely weird (NOTHING like the bar my friend gave me only abt two months before, and NOTHING like the bar i bought from the corner store which store.) i use it that same night and it didn’t lather like it should’ve and left my face so very dry and itchy. i woke up the next morning with literally FIVE SWOLLEN ! pimples on my face ! that im STILL recovering from. that bar completely disrupted my skin & it’s ph as i have been breaking it nonstop this past week. it was nothing like what i had used only a week before. i have scars all over my forehead & chin now. something’s gotta give. i used a clearly old bar from the store that wasn’t even targeted for those with sensitive skin & it was far more better than what i purchased from the store. currently touching on the two humongous pimples on my cheek from the soap as i type this.

I have been using the sensitive skin soap for about 3 years with great results. I bought a new pack recently and it smells like glue. It has cause my face, neck, chest and back to break out so bad I even have acne behind my ears at the moment. I bought another pack of soap today hoping that I just got a bad batch and it smells bad also, so I will not be using the soap. Something has definitely went terribly wrong with the soap!!!

The dove sensitive bar is so disgusting the smell I've thrown 2 backs of 12 in the garbage thought they had expired and I used one made me so itchy and they aren't selling in stored cause of this smell I am very sensitive to harsh smells please change the soap back to what it was I don't need ppl in public telling me I stink

Our family plans to use this Dove soap forever. Love this Dove soap for its unscented formula, which has almost no smell. Use it for everything: washing hair, body, and more. Leaves skin feeling soft and comfortable.

The batch I received was in fact fragrant. It irritated my skin and had a loud perfume smell

Awful new smell. I don’t know what changed but I will be switching soaps. Very nasty chemical/cardbaord/just NASTY smell. And it doesn’t go away.

I am a regular user of this soap and just got a new package. At first I thought the packaging smelled bad but it was the soap!! It smells like cardboard or chemicals. Very dissatisfied with this purchase.

My daughter has very sensitive skin. The dermatologist recommended using this soap. It is the only thing that works. It moisturizes her skin without making her feel itchy and uncomfortable.

Something changed?!? I’ve used dove sensitive soap for over 20 years and my last 2 purchases of it I have been very disappointed. There seems to be a different smell, it almost reminds me of charcoal briquettes, does not smell good and can smell it on my skin after a shower. Also has made my be very itchy which it has never done in the past. Has something changed? Unfortunately going to have to start searching for a replacement I think. My super sensitive skin used to love this product, but not anymore.

I know I'm going to be a contrarian on this one based on the reviews I've read, but I LOVE the reformulation of this beauty bar. I absolutely LOVE how clean it rinses off now (I feel like it didn't before) and I love the fact that you're left with NO smell whatsoever (I did before). Also, I think it's creamier now so and it suds up beautifully. It's a 10 for this perimenopausal woman with freakishly sensitive skin that won't let me use just about anything else. Thank you Dove!!
