New formula sucks
I used this deodorant for over 15 years and after this new formula change in 2025 it no longer works. At first I thought I got a bad batch because it was yellow-ish, smelled different, and I stink by the end of the day (which almost never happened with the old formula). I will be looking for an alternative.

Lost a loyal customer
This has been my deodorant of choice for as long as I can remember. I am highly sensitive to perfume and other fragrances and I found this scent to be subtle and clean. This new formula they released is strong, awful and does not remotely resemble the original scent. I buy your product in bulk and was not aware of this change when I made my last purchase. I now have several sticks of deodorant that are going in the garbage. You have misled your customers by changing the scent and formula without communicating that there was a difference. You have lost a loyal customer.

Pungent Putrid Perforating Perfume
Along with the hundreds and hundreds of other reviews, THIS was my deodorant! I’m so sensitive to fragrance and I bought one a few months ago and thought they accidentally had a manufacturer error because it smelled like a mix of cucumber and florals. I decided to buy some more recently and SAME THING. I tried it and I couldn’t believe the headache and the rash I got. I showered and I STILL smell it on me. Bring back the original Original Clean! Please!!! This product is yellow and slippery slimy, not white and pure bliss. Whoever made this call to switch the ORIGINAL formula needs to be let go because you will be losing life time customers who are now severely allergic to your product. Even now as it sits next to me as I type this, I am receiving a headache from the pungent putrid perfume perforating my pleasure. So sad. Sad sad time. Never thought I would be so sad for a deodorant… but here we are.

Would love answers
I have sensitive underarms. I found this deodorant more than 20 years ago and it was the only one that did not irritate my underarms. Loved it until recently your company changed the aluminum product in it. I would just love to have an answer as to why it was changed. Only thing online says to make way for new aluminum free products. That customers want with sensitive skin. I have tried the aluminum free and it really burned and made my whole body itch worse than this new formula. Why change a trusted product everyone loved? This new formula made my underarms feel raw and the skin turned really red. Now that I’m trying to find another brand I have noticed that all deodorants have the same ingredient. Why? I see hundreds on here with the same story. I think we deserve an answer since we have been loyal customers. It honestly makes me wonder if big pharm could be behind this to cause us to get sick over time.

I used dove original for over twenty five years. I can’t tolerate the new scent and formula. You have lost a very loyal and long time customer. To me you have spoiled a legacy brand…Hershey’s chocolate, stove top stuffing, or Chanel #5. It’s a shame.

I’ve been using this deodorant for the majority of my life and whatever formula change was last made ruined this product. It now smells horrendous and I cannot use it. It now smells like a man’s cheap deodorant that isn’t working properly.

Formula switch
I've been using Dove original clean for about 20 years. Loved it. All of the sudden they've changed the scent and the formula. It smells like teen spirit and the protection is terrible. I'm frequently stinky now and have to reapply. What happened!?! The original clean body wash was also changed in recent years from a luxurious, smooth texture to a stickier one. Considering switching everything.

I’ve used dove blue original for 20+ yrs and this New formula is AWFUL. Where can we get the old “original”? The new scent is awful, gave me a headache within the hour. Even my kids thought I “smelled weird”. This stuff is too expensive to toss-but it’s so bad. DOVE -you need to listen to your customers-clearly this is an issue. Fix what you’ve done, and bring back the original that everyone was faithfully using.

Scent and Formula Change
The formula and scent have been changed and it now causes irritation and itchiness when it didn’t before. I will now be forced to find a new deodorant once again. Please stop changing things that don’t need to be changed.
