While our soaps clean dishes very well, we do not recommend using our soap in the dishwasher and currently do not offer a soap specifically for use in the dishwasher. Our soaps are great cleaners for almost any household purpose, with the only notable exception being that they should not be used in the dishwasher unless you’d like to have a bubble party on your kitchen floor! Some customers say that our soaps have worked in their dishwashers, but we simply can’t recommend them as they suds too much. Even though there are no foaming agents, added for the sole purpose of creating more foam, the fact that our soaps are highly concentrated makes them high foaming. Our soaps do a great job of cleaning the dishes, but they could cause damage to your dishwasher because it gets overfilled with suds. If you do decide to try it, we suggest using a tiny amount of soap. To handwash your dishes with our Pure-Castile Liquid Soap, we recommend a couple of methods. The first is to fill your sink with water and add either 1-2 Tbsp. (15-30 mL) of our soap. If you prefer to use a dispenser, we recommend only using a foaming pump dispenser. Our Pure-Castile Soaps are quite concentrated and inevitably, the regular pumps always clog. For use in a foaming pump, dilute ¼ cup Tbsp. (60 mL) of soap into an 8oz container of water. You are aiming for a 1:3 ratio for the soap. The last way we recommend is to make an all-purpose spray cleaner by combining ¼ c. (60 mL) of soap with 1 qt. (1 L) water or in a spray bottle. Then all you need to do is spray the dirty dishes down and scrub them. When diluting our products, please note that this does reduce mixture's shelf life. Generally, diluting with tap or filtered water results in a shelf life of about 2 weeks to a month, while dilutions with distilled water can last up to 6 months. While our products don’t contain added vitamin c to eliminate or neutralize chlorine, our gentle soaps can help reduce the smell left behind on your skin, while also minimizing dryness from consistent or over exposure to chlorine. Baby Unscented Castile Soap is a great option, however we also recommend trying our Baby Organic Sugar Soap, to keep your skin hydrated. Our Sugar Soaps contain additional organic sugar and white grape juice that act as humectant ingredients. Please keep in mind that this may require some timely washing, such as possible rinsing and repeating. While we do not make any products specifically for sensitive skin, many of our soaps work very well for those with skin sensitivities. Here is a list of our soaps from least to most moisturizing: Pure-Castile Liquid, Pure-Castile Bar, and Organic Sugar Soap. We have received very positive comments regarding our Baby Unscented and Tea Tree soaps from our customers with skin issues such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, acne, oily skin, or general skin sensitivities. However, we all have different skin, so we would advise first trying our product on a small area of your skin to be sure that it will work for you. For our customers with many sensitivities who are unable to use our scented varieties, we recommend trying our unscented soaps. These products have no essential oils and our Pure-Castile Liquid Soap contains almost double the amount of olive oil, making them milder than the rest. As mentioned above, we do not make soaps specific to certain skin conditions, although they may help in some cases. We would still recommend that you first consult these products with your dermatologist, to see which products they may recommend that are more suitable for your skin. A: None of our soaps will help to reduce dark spots. However, Pure-Castile Soap will help promote healthy skin that is more able to heal itself. Protecting your skin from the sun by wearing hats, UPF clothing, and sunscreen is really the best bet to prevent future dark spots. No soap will take away scarring, but with time and healthy skin-care habits—keeping skin hydrated and using sunscreen—they may fade.
