Dr. Scholl's Men's Gus Ankle Strap Sandal

Highly recommended. Very comfortable and looks great, my husband loved it

I bought these early March, 2024. I have a couple of pairs of Dr Scholl slipons, but needed something open that my feet won't slide out of, which seems to be a new old age, I'm 71yo, problem :) Anyway, the sandals are beautifully made and the leather is lovely to to the touch and looks fantastic. I bought these in size 11, normal fit and they are true to size in length and width. However when I went to fasten the straps, the upper straps by my ankle are almost too short. I have to really cinch them up to get the velcro fastners to engage. This in tu8rn makes them a bit uncomfortable as they are very tight and leave indentations on the top of my foot. I'm hoping the leather will stretch a little bit with wear and become easier to fasten and wear. A little extra, maybe 0.5" of strap would be helpful.

This is my third pair. I wear them most of the day.

These 2 sandals will be my 3rd & 4th. I wear them almost all the time.

I wore my first pair for more than seven years. Never a problem. Some of the best design, fit, and robust materials. Highly recommended

Good sandal. Glad Dr. Sholl’s keeps it in their line. This is my second or third pair. I noticed they changed the length of the strap slightly. That difference makes me have to open and close the velcro to put it on instead of slipping my foot in. Just a nit pick. Overall l’ll still buy them again.

I am afraid that it will eventually break, and I will not be able to use these sandals. Not sure if it is a defect of my pair or is a global defect. Photos attached. I've probably bought four pairs over the years but last time did not find my size (12) bummer!! Dr. Scholl's please go back to supplying this product on size 12!

My new sandals are comfortable, nice looking and reasonably priced. BUT 2 issues force me to give less stars than I might otherwise have given: 1) The strap is much too short, much shorter than on my previous pair of Dr Scholl’s sandals. It makes it awkward to take them on and off without rethreading the strap each time. 2) The buckle is places in a hard-to-reach place on the outside of each foot. It would be much easier to fasten the sandals if the buckle was in the middle of the foot, or even on the inside of the foot. So would I buy these sandals again, knowing what I know now? I might...but I would shop around very carefully for options first.

Very comfortable sandals. I gave it four stars because the location of the strap opening needs to be redesigned to lengthen the strap across the top of the foot rather than a small opening on the outside of the foot. This causes the strap to be very short and can require extra time to reinsert the strap in the closure opening. However, the fit, quality and comfort are great!

Ordered one size bigger than normal and sandal fit perfectly.

Second pair of these. Love the fit. First pair lasted over five years. Great summer sandals!

The shoe is very good quality and comfortable but the straps are very short you literally have to remove the strap to put it on. My bought them for my son who has a wide foot, this would've been great if the straps had at least and inch longer. Since the straps weren't long enough to wrap around my sons as ankle I will be returning.

My major complaint is that the ankle strap is too short requiring it to be completely removed from its loop and then reinserted after my foot is in place. The strap should be at least one-half inch longer. I did not had that problem with the Dr. Scholl sandals that I replaced.

Dr Scholl's Gus sandal is the most comfortable footwear I have ever worn. I have been wearing them during warm weather for the last two years and only trade them for other footwear when decorum or climate requires.

Living in the tropics sandals take a real beating. I bought these to replace a pair that I bought 3 or 4 years ago and literally wore the insole to a rag. The most comfortable sandal I have ever owned.

I have purchased three pairs of this sandle "Gus" over a period of 5 years. The memory foam makes for a comfortable shock absorber and it is not so pillowy that you don't feel contact with the he ground. There are a couple of d sign flaws but n my opinion: The straps should pull from the instep go both the heel an toe. For whatever reason the heels wear out quickly. These sandals do not deal well with moisture. If you want encounter a puddle in the rain they will be compromised. Overall I still love this style of sandal and the Dr. Schools branding was a major reason for my purchase. I suspect like a lot of stuff made in China you won't get any lasting quality.

I purchased these sandals at the end of the season so had them in the closet until warmer weather in the folowing spring. After weaaring them for just a few times a couple places where the strap went into the bottom of the sole began pulling back. Needless to say I no longer had the receipts. I glued them and a short time later every strap did the same thing. I have reglued each area and ordered a different pair and brand. Kind of funny because doing searches I picked the same pair not realizing they were the same as I had. I do like the looks but the quality/manufacturing is terrible.
