The soft material gently separates cats’ paws when they land on it, causing litter to be released from their paws. Litter attaches to the top fiber, reducing tracking throughout your home. Not only does the Drymate® Litter Trapping Mat reduce litter tracking it also makes cleanup around the litter box simple and easy. Gently shake the mat over the litter box to release the trapped litter, and machine wash as needed. For best results machine wash warm separately or hand wash. Hang to dry. Cat with sensitive paws? Q: Can the Mat be easily Cut and Re: To fitting in a smaller width area flexible enough so sides can be slightly turned up Like the underside leaning against let's say a toilet or cabinet)

Does not trap any litter! This is probably the worst litter mat I've ever had. The surface is smooth rather than grooved, so the litter doesn't catch on the mat and ends up all over the floor.
