Description
GeoSafari Jr. My First Microscope allows preschoolers to see magnified hidden worlds with ease! This fully functional microscope is the perfect introduction to a real science tool and STEM learning. My First Microscope has a range of magnification (2.5x–8x) designed for toddlers and preschoolers. Magnified views can be challenging for little ones to understand, so by starting with the 2.5x view (with the focusing knob turned as far away from your child as it will go), your preschooler can orient herself to the item she’s viewing, and as she turns the focusing knob towards herself, she can gradually pull away to an 8x view. The wide field of view of these lower magnifications is critical to little ones’ understanding. My First Microscope also features two extra-large eyepieces (no need to close one eye!) and a chunky, kid-sized focusing knob. A bright LED with easy push-button action lights up details for even more discoveries. Requires 3 AAA batteries (not included).

First one was broken in half upon arrival. Replacement also arrived cracked, so I’ve requested a refund. It’s really light weight and poor quality. As others have said, it’s basically a magnifying glass. I’m sure it would be fun for a 3 year old, but I can’t imagine it would last very long considering the 2 I received arrived broken. Not worth the $20.

My 3 year old loves this microscope! It works very well and the knob is easy for him to maneuver. He loves to "study" leaves and flowers he finds so this was an awesome addition to letting him explore his nature items more in depth. I was impressed by how well it works for the price too!

It is a lot lighter (weight) than I thought it would be. I haven’t opened the box so I can’t really say anything else about it. Packaging is bright and attractive though.

This is a great toy for curious toddlers 2-5 years of age to explore about science. My child likes it but didn't played it for very long. When I received it, I've noticed there were scratches on the lenses and a bit on the side of the toy. When adjusting the zoom in and out, it's mostly blurry than clear. This will do for now for him so he can explore around.

A Christmas gift for my 4 year old grandson. He loves to play scientist and couldn't wait to pluck a leaf and a flower to examine. We live in FL so that wasn't a problem. You will need a screwdriver and batteries to get the light to work.
Definitely for younger kids

Very cute little microscope for curious kids but definitely not for anyone older than 4/5. I returned one of them that I bought to find a more age-appropriate set for a 6.5 year old.

Our 4 1/2 year old great-granddaughter, immediately upon removing it from the box, intuitively took to the instrument, perhaps, because she is emulating her 16 year aunt who refuses to share her adult level microscope with her. So,now the two work side-by-side exploring the micro-world.
