This is my second Ember mug. The first one was a gift and I wore it out. This one is the bigger version, which was my only complaint about my first one. . I wished it was bigger! Now, I don't think I could live without it! Not having to keep heating my coffee up is a total game changer! Love it!

I purchased it as a gift for my sister's a mother's day present. My wife and I are on our second mugs, started with the tumblers for Christmas in 24. We've found that even if we occasionally have problems with the app like it seems some people do, the mugs still function at a great default temp. We don't even think about the app most of the time. Great temperature coffee for hours. Love them. When a friend told me it was "life changing", I was hesitant, but now I'm pretty much in agreement. I've given four as gifts and they all loved them.

I love my mug, just hope it lasts longer than my first one. It stopped working after six months. I don’t drink hot beverages in the summer so it was over a year since I’d bought it. Wanted to give it another try.

Love the Ember. Keeps my hot beverages perpetually hot - no more awful swig of cold coffee. My only complaint is that the 14oz size is *not* 14oz. It’s barely 12oz. I don’t care what Ember themselves say. All of my other 14oz mugs are true 14oz.

Charging plate
While I enjoy the coffee mug, the weak point of it is its charging plate. I have had to buy several of them over the years. My two adult daughters have also had to do that. If anything is going to go wrong, it tends to be the two little contact points in the plate. I have learned to be very carful in keeping them clean. But regardless, they can break down and fail. So, here goes more money for a new plate. Should my newest plate also fail, I will have to reconsider staying with Ember. How many bags of coffee can I buy with the cost of another charging plate? The added cost of these new plates makes the overall cost of coffee a little more expensive.

The mug is working perfectly. This is my 4th Ember mug. The problem I had was that the inner coating did not hold up. I have never even put a spoon in the mug and still the coating flaked. When I complained to Ember they offered me an $8. 00 coupon toward another mug. This one advertised a “new” stronger coating. We’ll see.

This is the best idea but absolutely doesn’t work. I can’t get through a whole cup of coffee on one charge. Surely there’s a way Ember can figure out how to extend battery life after reading all the reviews.

It was a birthday gift for my daughter. I bought the 14 oz Mug 2. She loves it. I purchased a mug lid. Erroneously ordered 10 oz instead of 14 oz. I gave a close friend the 10 oz lid because she had purchased a 10 mug earlier without the lid. I reordered a 14 oz. Immediately after submitting order, I realized I did not change the mailing address. I sent and email and asked if the address could be changed to be sent directly to my daughter. I received a confirming email that the address had been changed; however, I received the lid and now have to mail it to my daughter. Otherwise, I think it is an excellent product

No more regular mugs for me
I can’t go back to regular mugs after using Ember ones for years now. This last purchase is at least my fifth, but I have lost count. I have decided that I will get the metal ones in the future though, as the porcelain ones are harder to keep clean. The only part that I have had to replace has been two charging coasters. I wrongly used my first one as a regular coaster and ended up breaking one of the pins that charges the mug. I have since had another with a broken pin, though not sure what happened. I DO wish there was a replacement coaster that didn’t come with the charge cord as I am collecting too many that I can’t use.

My review
My wife bought me one a couple years ago and it’s awesome. However, I bought this one for her as an anniversary gift and it has a major problem. The battery only lasts for 25% of what mine last. It’s a good product but it’s annoying to have to place it on the charger all the time instead of being able to carry it throughout the house.
