A: Honestly it comes down to quality. This is an expensive item but the build quality and finish are exceptional. Especially the finish they used on the mug. The finish is like metal silk, so smooth.

A: To keep your coffee warm and at that exact perfect temperature. Some people care about it more than others. Definitely a little excessively priced but a really thoughtful gift for the coffee or tea lover with distracting kids not allowing them to finish their coffee quickly.

A: Yes there is slight staining that I have been unable to remove

A: YES. Mine has a dark coffee stain on the bottom of the mug that won't come off. The coffee stain along the sides comes off if I put a little bleach in the water and leave it for a minute.

If additives that may cause seperation are included in your beverage we recommend using a non-scratch utensil, such as a silicone spoon, to ensure even heat distribution. For most beverages, however, we've found that the liquid tends to circulate and distribute heat evenly.

A: Hi JR, we do sell a sliding lid accessory for the 10oz Ember Mug which is a great way to conserve battery and avoid any mess for home or office use of the Mug. That said, The Ember Mug was not designed to fit in a cup holder and our sliding lid isn't 100% spill-proof in situations where your mug may turn on its side or fall over. For on-the-go usage, we recommend checking out the Ember Travel Mug 2+, which has a push-to-open spill-proof lid and is designed to fit comfortably in your vehicle cup holder.

A: Hi Shedryk, thanks for your interest! The Ember Mug uses a proprietary ceramic coating to capture the look and feeling of a classic ceramic mug. Underneath the coating is solid food-grade stainless steel, and of course all is FDA-approved and non-toxic. In order to enjoy your Ember Mug, you will need to charge its battery by placing on a plugged-in charging coaster (included). Once charged, the Mug can be used away from your coaster. A: Hi Alb, thanks for your interest! The Ember Mug does not come with a lid, however we do have an optional sliding lid that is purchasable as a separate accessory (comes in both 10oz and 14oz sizes).

A: Because the Mug pairs to a device via Bluetooth connection, any Ember App user will need to be near the Mug in order to use the App's features. However, the mug always defaults to 135.

A: Ember Mug2 has an auto sleep function which intelligently wakes up when hot liquid is poured in and enters sleep mode when not in use. It is smart so it will shut off when no liquid is detected.
