The Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay5 Special brings the innovation of the original 1987 StingRay into the modern era. This 5-string electric bass has enhanced, rounded contours on its select hardwood body for greater comfort in any playing position. The sculpted joint of the roasted maple neck provides uninhibited access to all 22 stainless steel frets. At a reduced weight for improved overall balance, this bass is a pleasure to play on stage. The StingRay5 Special's versatile sound comes from its dual Music Man humbuckers with neodymium magnets, giving more output and a diverse range of tones. A newly designed 18V 3-band preamp allows for extra clean headroom so can dial in modern punch or classic vintage tones. Comfortably Contoured Body The contoured select hardwood body of the StingRay5 Special feels great against body in any playing position. The double-cutaway body provides unrestricted access to the highest notes on the fingerboard. At a reduced weight for excellent balance, this bass will be a joy to play on stage for hours at a time.
