Review Quotes

As facilitators, we always hear phrases like 'Feel the room' or 'Have an eye for. . . .' I must admit, I did not always know what exactly these meant. In facilitation, we experience little things that are very hard to describe, but we know in our hearts how important they are. Facilitation in Action captures these little secrets. The book utilizes the essence of the authors' experience in the form of actual stories to help the reader reach deeper levels of attitude beyond the skill sets. Keep an eye open for the Invitations, as they represent excellent opportunities to put what you read into action.--Aya Medhat, Talent Development Professional

Providing fantastic examples of being learner-centered with application considerations and invitations to reflect, the expert ATD facilitators connect with and support new and experienced facilitators through their generosity in sharing their approaches.--Julie Patrick, Principal, JP Learning Associates

This book falls into the category of 'things I wish I would have known' when I started my TD career. To become a facilitator of learning takes work, passion, experience, and finesse. This book gives the game plan to accelerate the time it takes you to be the go-to facilitator, no matter the content or audience.--Suzanne Frawley, Director, Talent Management, Fortune 100 Oil & Gas Company

This book is an essential addition to all learning and development professionals' library. I've been training and facilitating for more than 20 years, and this book helped me continue elevating my approach. Readers will be included in a community of four experts who will make you laugh and stretch your growth in facilitating learning. The book is organized in a fun and engaging way where the authors share their craft and lessons learned while making you appreciate the special role of learning and development in driving individual and organizational success.--Amy P. Kelley, President and Chief Learning Officer, The Amy P. Kelly Companies; Author, The Energy Bus Field Guide and G.L.U.E.: A Leadership Development Strategy to Bond and Unite
