I tried this clarifying shampoo because although my kids are fine I have allergies to a bunch of scents and ingredients. This way I could help wash their hair if necessary. It didn't work out, though. First, neither my husband nor kids were not a fan of the smell; they insist that it smells like a portapotty. I wasn't offended by the smell myself, but I think our local portapotties must be using a similar scent to mask the smell. We could have dealt with that, but the product also just wasn't getting their hair clean, let alone getting the chlorine out. I kept thinking they had failed to wash their hair at all because it was still oily on the top and chlorinated on the bottom. They tearfully insisted they had, so I eventually assumed the problem was instead their hair washing skills. Eventually my husband and I started doing the hair washing for them. Their hair was slightly better, but it was still not getting the chlorine out or fully washing their hair. It took 2-3 thorough washings for half baked results. In the end we've decided to try another clarifying shampoo. This was a real disappointment.
Ineffective Product for Us

We tried this shampoo on our 3 kids with different hair color and textures. We are in a hot tub about 2 times per week so the green tone from the chlorine was very minimal. Sadly, the product both shampoo and conditioner were ineffective in removing the green tone after consistent use for almost one month. We immediately used the product after each hot tub use and it was still not able to remove the green color even though the chlorine was not on hair for a long length of time. All chlorine levels in hot tub were tested prior to hot tub use and all were exactly where they were supposed to be so that also was not a factor in the ineffectiveness of the product. We have had much better results from creating a baking soda and water paste after hot tub use and immediately rubbing on hair in noticeable green spots.

I bought this for my sons who swim year round. It does a great job of cleaning their hair. Not as rich of a lather, and doesn't get all the chorine out in one wash, although overall my kids are a fan of the scent and how their hair feels after using it. Not perfect but good enough

My daughter swims on a swim team 3+ days a week. Before we found this shampoo and the Lemon-Aid conditioner, her hair was dry and brittle and very damaged from all of the chlorine. Then she started using this shampoo, and the difference is amazing. Her hair is healthy once again. We tried other swim shampoos, but this one has worked the best for her hair.
Just buy it!

This shampoo is seriously perfect. My 4-year-old’s hair is a mess after the ocean or pool. This shampoo does a GREAT job getting the gunk out and making sure her blond locks don’t turn green. Will definitely be using every summer.
Amazing results

We take my daughter to swim class two days out of the week and I started to notice that her hair was starting to get crispy ends and super dry. Her hair felt like she had accidentally put in a bowl of juice and let it dry out. I tried it once and her hair is soft and shiny she looks like she has a new set of hair I am very pleased with this purchase. Also a little bit goes a long way! Also, there is no fruity smell only when you smell it from the bottle other than that it does not have a strong odor.
Smells good and does it's job

This spray works really well, but more than that, it smells delicious. I would highly recommend this spray for kids with tangles. It smells so fruity and nice.

This stuff is amazing! We swim a lot, and the before/after of the kids’ hair after using this is just incredible. I only wish I bought this sooner.

My daughter has very long fine hair! This lathers up and smells amazing! Helps so much with tangles. This is honestly the only product along with its conditioner that keeps her hair from getting tangled even during the day!

I’m impressed. This actually seems to be working on my daughter’s ultra blonde hair. And we got to swim 4+ times a week right now!

This is the second year we’ve used this product. My very blonde children swim nonstop during the Summer. One year I noticed my daughters hair had turned green so we had to get her ends trimmed off in order to get that color out. After that experience I did a little research and came across this shampoo. We used it all last Summer and this Summer and not a green strand in either kid’s hair! I completely recommend this shampoo and their leave in conditioner of the same type.
The Best of ANY Clarifiers

I have a sensitive, itchy and dry scalp, with alopecia ruining the growth of healthy strands. I've tried all kinds of "clarifying" shampoos to get rid of the residues of volumizing siliconed, ceramide coated, suffocating creamed shampoos. In desperation, I accidentally came across this online though I don't swim. The liquid is thin and runny, a bit hard to spread/massage, low small suds, has a very faint baby shampoo smell. My hair was tangled but squeaky clean, I then followed with my usual shampoo. AH-mazing results! My scalp felt completely different, my hair showed what my own shampoo could really do, and my strands' color and texture was something I've never seen before. A real shame the beauty community doesn't know about this mislabeled product.
Great!

We currently aren't using our pool, but our town water has a lot of chlorine and other minerals in it causing my daughters hair to be a orange/blonde. Used this product 4 times and her hair is a lot more blonde/clean looking and it's not as knotty etc when she wakes up, making it so much easier to brush!

I bought this shampoo upon my hairdresser’s recommendation to use a clarifying shampoo. My daughter’s hair was becoming “sticky” and tangled from build up due to lots and lots of swimming. Fairy Tales was highly rated so I gave it a try. I could tell a difference after one wash. We continue to use this product after each swim, however my daughter complains about the way it smells. It has a slight odor.
