I ended up purchasing this book and a few others to give out to some of the students that I tutor for Christmas. They loved them! The book was a little too hard for kindergarten readers, but by June they were able to read it on their own!

I bought several of this series for my 8 yr old daughter as she is struggling in reading. It gives her confidence to read a book and not struggle with the words and they use specific words that are just a tad bit higher in level of the book, for that word it has a page to look up the word and shows what the word means and how to sound it out! the stories also have a great message. My daughter no longer moans when i say "reading time" and we are now in the stage 2 I can read books. Her Teacher has seen an improvement in her reading and i give credit to these books(along with teacher's aide at school]
