Fingerprint Activities Animals - by Fiona Watt (Spiral Bound)

Today was my kids’ first day with this book, and my son accidentally dropped it on the carpet, ink side down. He already had ink on his hands, and he ended up leaving several palm prints on the carpet in addition to the ink pad’s rainbow. I got to it within a few minutes, right after my daughter alerted me, and I immediately went to clean it, thinking it should come out pretty easily since this is made for small children, but Nope. Not with water, not with carpet soap, not with oxiclean, not with a tide stick, not with fancy upholstery cleaner, not with hardcore stain remove from the hardware store, not with hydrogen peroxide, not even with acetone!!! NOTHING worked. (Posted pictures to show before and after hours of intense cleaning.) We JUST bought this carpet a few months ago. It is NICE, $6/sqft carpet. It is meant for messy kids and pets, and is as stain proof as carpet is able to be made. Since the area he messed up is in the middle of the room, a large chunk of carpet will have to be replaced in order for it to install properly. We’re looking at $1000 to fix this disaster. To say we’re angry is an absolute understatement. Who on earth makes something with permanent dye in it for little kids????
