Just purchased 2nd one of these. Very good units, BUT: 1) Packaging is ridiculously difficult to open, and 2)if alarm sounds, pushing the silencer button does not always silence the unit.see moreof the reviewer's review

I purchased and installed 3 of these in different parts of the house. After about 4 months one of them alarmed. No smoke, steam, nothing apparent. The batteries are strong as per battery tester. Figured it was a fluke. However, about 1.5 months later the same thing happened. The other 2 are be...see moreof the reviewer's review

I agree with another reviewer that these are, indeed good units, and also that pushing the "silence" button does not always silence the unit immediately. Need to replace alarms every 10 years. Loved this is a dual (Photoelectric & ionization), it's what firefighters recommend. Low cost is a bonus. Easy to install.see moreof the reviewer's review

Small and unobtrusive. It has multiple mounting holes so it fits the same mounting screw pattern as the other major brand smoke detector we are replacing because of age. This senor has two AA batteries which are considerable less expensive than 9 volt. They are easily replaced by opening a sliding d...see moreof the reviewer's review

I wish this also had a carbon monoxide detector as well. It would be great to just have to put up one device!

We purchased 5 of these to update our 1960s house to current code (where you should have alarms in every bedroom, and at least one per floor). After a lot of research, I settled on this model because of the 10-year life (some are only 3), dual sensor (both photoelectric and ionization, which sense t...see moreof the reviewer's review
