I don't usually buy darker roasts for my espresso machine but since it is summer and I do more iced Americanos. . . It works great for that. Darker roasts also are typically much easier to work with and require less grams of coffee in the same portafilter, which means less money per shot. This was a nice blend that isn't over the top dark or bitter. Crema monster for sure.

Some mornings you just want your first sip to slap ya hard. Put some zip, and a little kick start to get you going. This Italian blend does that! Find it, tap the grounds, and let machine do the rest.

I find these reviews odd, since Italian Roast is normally very dark. This is not even a "little" dark. It looks and tastes like a medium roast—at best. I have tried many FRC whole bean coffees, and this was the by far the biggest disappointment for me. You can see what an Italian Roast should look like. The other 2 are a different brand (not Starbucks—ick) and these 2 hit all of the notes one expects. You can see from the second photo, that the "dark roast" is barely darker than the "light roast" Tanzanian. I have been drinking whole bean fresh roasted coffee since 1981. I lived next to 2 boutique roasters, one of which literally taught me about the varietals and how to bring out the best in them. The only reason it gets 2 stars is that someone will find it drinkable—but that’s not me. It will go into the bin.

Tell you the truth I ordered my wife’s coffee first to make sure your coffee was good. 😬 Coffee was fresh, not bitter. I can actually drink it without coffee creamer. I make cappuccinos for my wife and I every morning. After work I have a double shot of coffee 😊😍😋

I was excited to have this espresso coffee. It is supposed to be a ESPRESSO BLEND but I received a ARTISAN BLEND. It looks like the picture of this coffee is a ARTISAN BLEND. If I order this coffee again, I feel like I would get a ARTISAN BLEND again. How can I get a ESPRESSO BLEND?
