What happened to this litter?
We’ve been using this for years, but whatever has changed in the formula recently has made it terrible. No clumping, no odor control and it leaves sludge in the box. I have one bag left and will be finding another litter.

Terrible product that I will avoid in the future.
I am extremely disappointed with this product! It is definitely NOT unscented, the chemical lemony stench is so powerful it lingers on my clothes for hours after cleaning a litter box! It is very dusty, it does not clump, it makes my cats sneeze, and makes me feel ill to use and deal with it!

Simply Unscented is no longer Unscented.
I recently purchased a new 6-pack of the Simply Unscented litter and was so disappointed in the changes that have been made. Simply Unscented is no longer unscented, and this is a deal breaker for our household as my husband is highly allergic. The chemical smell is overwhelming, the litter grains are smaller and don’t clump like it used to, and it’s dusty and makes us sneeze. I’m so unhappy about this! I’m going to have to suffer through the remaining bags while I look for another option. I hope you go back to the old formula - and quickly!!!

No Longer UNSCENTED
I don't know what happened with this litter. It used to be so good but now it's very dusty and NOT unscented. The scent is so strong and seeps into my bedroom, not even my air purifier set on high can dissipate the strong smell. One of my cats is very sensitive to scented litter and has a rash all over her stomach from desperately trying to like it off. I feel like i've been having breathing problems all weekend. The Simply Unscented is false advertisement, and should not be sold as so. BUYER BEWARE!

Epic dust unlike regular Fresh Step
So much dust I had a thin gray layer all over my home even running a HEPA filter air cleaner in the litter box room. I liked the smaller, lighter bags for after a medical procedure where I was not allowed to lift over 10 pounds for a month. That is why I got this item. I use regular Fresh Step normally. Whatever they put in the smaller bags caused epic dust. Would not buy again or recommend.

Sticky Mess
The odor control is great, but the litter turns to a sticky mess when it gets wet. My senior cat then steps in it and gets it stuck between his paws. I have a robot litter box and the litter won’t detach from the bottom unless I scoop it manually.

New formula is terrible!
The formula has changed, it is terrible now! Dusty and no longer clumps. I have four 10-year old cats and used this litter for years, was very impressed and happy with the quality, no longer. I will be changing my auto-delivery to a litter that actually works and doesn’t require a shower after cleaning the boxes. The dust is absolutely horrible.

Upsetting
Used this frequently but something changed … it’s sooooo dusty . It used to never be that dusty . There was a cloud of dust after I poured it and my cat rolled in it and is COVERED in dust..

Beware. Do not buy unless you want paste
If I could give 0 I would. My cat has a chronic respiratory thing and he’s been getting worse. The formula changed and it’s extremely dusty and no longer clumps but makes a sludgey pastey type pile of urine. I wish I found out sooner because I get it on auto ship through a company and first started using the new formula. I’ve been a customer probably for a decade. I will be searching for a new litter.

Not "Low Dust" as in past years. Tracks more.
Unscented is the reason i buy it. I find the Frebreeze scent excessive. I have used Fresh Step for years but last year really noticed the low dust description should be removed. The granules have gotten smaller and much more dust is apparent when filling up and scooping out the litter box. I will be trying out Tidy Cat.

I’m so confused. I bought this because it says unscented and it’s the strongest smelling litter I’ve ever used. So artificially fragranced. And very dusty.

Not the Fresh Step unscented I used before!
I just got a new kitten and am very disappointed in the new formulation of Fresh Step Simply Unscented. It has a terrible perfume/chemical scent and has poor clumping (endless little pieces I’m having to fish out of the litter box). And not to mention the litter is tracked from the bathroom into my bed! If that wasn’t bad enough, I just figured out the second time washing sheets since using this product, apparently a few pieces of litter on the sheets left little black smudges on the sheets (assume this is from the carbon in the litter).

Massive Dust Cloud
Miss the old formula. I feel like I need to wear a mask when I dump this litter into the box as it now creates a massive dust cloud! Far from dust free. We have a cat with asthma, so I will probably need to change. The litter is also much darker and the texture is different. Very small particles that track everywhere. Fresh step DONT FIX SOMETHING THAT ISNT BROKEN!

What Happened to the Old Formula?
I’ve used Fresh Step for years, but the recent formula change is a dealbreaker. The litter is now darker, way dustier, and my cats track it all over the house. Clumps fall apart more easily, and the whole room smells like dust. Whatever “improvements” were made, they’ve made it worse in every way. Really disappointed — time to find a new brand.
