Q: Does anyone else bag smells? Like after a couple days of opening it starts smelling bad?

A: No, but the smell is a bit stronger after a week. I didn't realize this was a 7 day expiration (I didn't read the bag until 6 days later). The bag lasted 10 days for us but I won't do that again. It does have a strong smell but it's a normal smell.

Q: Can you freeze half of this to make it last for two weeks?

A: Yes. I have two small dogs and they cannot finish a bag in one week. I portion half of the bag and freeze it. The color of the food may change when frozen but it does not affect the product.

My 3 year old male American Akita, Meeks Yuga Bushi, has always had stomach problems. It's been very difficult finding a food he likes and also that agrees with him. I had just introduced fresh pet to him a week ago and the results are undeniable! He loves the food and it agrees with him. I will post more later after I observe him and can give more information on other things such as skin and coat condition, temperament, energy, etc.

My dog Pearl is an elderly shitzu, she is going blind and her hair was falling out and I thought she was nearing the end of her life. I was at the grocery store and I saw your product and since she was having so much trouble I decided to try it. Your tender chicken recipe with garden vegetables for dogs has given her a new lease on life. She has always had trouble with yeast on her skin, rashes itching and an awful smell. It is all gone. She had gotten to the point where all she did was lay around. She couldn't see very well and I was so worried. After feeding her your product for just a few months. She is so much better. She has a spring in her step, her eyesight seems much better. I cannot thank You enough for how it has improved my dogs health. I will be buying This dogfood for her as long as she lives. SMELL IT BEFORE GIVING IT TO YOUR DOG. I was feeding her the food and it was weird because she did not eat it. Expiration day is in May but it has gone bas God knows for how long. It was my favorite brand but never again ! i learned how to make its own food and i am happy now.

Someone’s pet is going to become I’ll from eating expired food! Normally I would give this item five stars. My low score is about the way Target is stocking the food than the quality of the food when it is fresh. Three times in less than two weeks, I have encountered three expired bags; two expired bags I took home in two separate drive up orders and had to bring them back to the store. The first time I had to immediately return late in the evening because I had nothing else to feed our dog. The second time I trusted the issue had been corrected. When I returned that bag, a manager told me they would check the refrigerated case for expired inventory. Tonight, while in the store, I found another bag, with the same expired date in the case. It was between two unexpired bags. Based on what I was told about how the pet food is stocked, I suspect someone is working the expired bags into the unexpired inventory. Not cool. Someone’s pet will go hungry or be made ill. Do better, Target!
