Q: Does anyone else bag smells? Like after a couple days of opening it starts smelling bad?

A: No, but the smell is a bit stronger after a week. I didn't realize this was a 7 day expiration (I didn't read the bag until 6 days later). The bag lasted 10 days for us but I won't do that again. It does have a strong smell but it's a normal smell.

Q: Can you freeze half of this to make it last for two weeks?

A: Yes. I have two small dogs and they cannot finish a bag in one week. I portion half of the bag and freeze it. The color of the food may change when frozen but it does not affect the product.

The food went bad quickly and had a bad smell I handle noticed until my dog started throwing up. Please do some research on this brand through Reddit.

Fresh dog food but boy does it go bad quickly. Like super quick. I usually split in half and freeze part of it to keep it fresh longer.

We have a 19 year old rescued dog that was suffering from bloody diarrhea and vomiting for more than a year. Thankfully we have a wonderful team of doctors and Lovely was prescribed medication. It would help for a around 5 months and then she will have the episodes again. We started giving her Fresh Pet with her medicines, and it has been a long time since she has had those issues again. Her stool is normal, no vomiting and she has gained healthy weight and has start acting like a new dog. We are so grateful for Fresh Pet and the great quality of food. We have tried the beef, treats and chicken. All of our three rescue dogs love it! We are waiting now for cat food! Haha. Thank you again.

My cockapoo loves this food. Prior to feeding him this we were buying a name brand dry dog food. While he had no issues with it, he rarely wanted to eat. We decided to switch to something more natural and fresh. He LOVES this food. While this one costs more than the other, it is definitely worth it.

Trying to find a puppy/dog food without sweet potatoes and lentils(which I choose not to feed) also without corn, wheat, or other fillers is a challenge!! My frenchie never had a firm stools in her entire life (she’s 9 months at the moment) her stool has always been soft serve consistency until I transitioned her over to Fresh Pet Roasted meals® tender chicken recipe with garden vegetables!! For the first time in her life she has normal firm stools and it’s such a blessing. She’s so happy, loves her new food as do the others in our household of four. They all absolutely go absolutely bonkers for this dog food. Please, please, please keep this recipe it’s a blessing! It can be hard to find for us but we have a couple stores that carry this particular Roasted meal. We plan ahead and consistently stay stocked in the 5.5 lb bags so we are not without. Thank you again for such a grate product!!

My shih tzu was on kibble food for most his life. I recently took him to the vet and they told me he was having liver failure. I was told he wouldn’t live past the week and I should put him down. I said no because he was still happy and trying to eat so I just said I’d do my best by him and try to give him the best quality of life including food I could. He’s been eating this food since then and he’s still going 9 months later!!
