Q: Can this be cubed and frozen for training treats?

submitted by online shopper - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi, while our rolls are made to be served fresh from the fridge, you can feel free to freeze any unused portions upon opening. Keep in mind texture and moisture levels may vary after freezing, but this will not change the nutritional value of the food. For any unopened rolls, it is best to keep it in the refrigerator until the sell by date stamped on the package. Hope this helps! - Jillian

  • A: After you freeze freshpet & thaw it, it turns into a water filled mush. I have only fed my 2 rescue senior dogs this for 11 yrs.

Q: What is experation date ?

submitted by Kathy - 10 days ago
  • A: Hi Kathy, All Freshpet recipes come with a sell-by date stamped on the packaging. You can safely store the recipe in your refrigerator, unopened, until that date. Once opened, the recipe should be used within 7 days, as it is gently cooked, all natural, and contains fresh meat without preservatives. Feel free to contact us at 1-866-789-3737 for any further assistance, and please be sure to mention the following reference number: 562467 to better assist. -Abbie

Q: Is this a low fat product? My 6pound chihuahua has a super sensitive gi tract and evidently, Gallbladder sludge. He stays on a NO fat/super low fat diet.

submitted by Cc - 8 months ago
  • A: Hi CC, thanks for reaching out. While all of our recipes are complete and balanced, they are not designed for specific medical conditions. We do not currently offer a low fat recipe, however, the fat content in our Freshpet Sensitive Skin and Stomach recipe is 5% as fed and 22.7% moisture free. We recommend consulting your veterinarian to determine if Freshpet is the right choice for your pet. Hope this helps! -Vina

Q: My local target has been out of this food for 2 weeks. It's the only food we have found that his stomach tolerates. Is there a way to stock sensitive stomach and skin more regularly?

Q: could I use this simultaneously when feeding both my dog and cat?

submitted by Unknown - 2 years ago
  • A: Freshpet dog food is a complete and balanced food formulated for dogs. It should not be fed to cats as the only diet since cat nutrition requirements are different from dogs. It will not harm your cat if fed as a treat or occasionally as a supplemental recipe. But, we would recommend you check with your vet if you are using it as your pet's sole diet. Hope this helps! - Jillian

Recipe Change?

Q - 3 days ago, Verified purchaser
Not sure if the recipe has changed but for about 6-8 months my dog loved it. Now he coughs everytime he eats it. Research the brand. They have had bouts of salmonella, so if your dog has symptoms afterwards, it’s not allergies. Just an fyi!

my dog has the most sensitive gut that I have ever encountered. Everything will upset his stomach and I felt stuck with only giving him hard food and meds. This little treat has not upset his stomach once and allows a little variety in his diet. I am so thankful I came across this option for him!

As my dog Luna got older her stomach could really handle her regular dog food, I kept changing trying to find the right food for her. She would throw up, have hard stool or sometimes have a few bites and walk away from her food. Her stomach Issues got worse, she didn’t wanna eat at all, she really looked depressed. Then I finally found fresh pet sensitive, it was like night and day! She started acting like her regular self again happy to eat and wanting to play again. I’m so glad she can enjoy eating without any issues.

My dog is sensitive to everything. Has a lot of tummy troubles. He responds well to this and has gained back some Of the weight he lost from not so good reactions to other foods! He has pancreas issues so the protein/fat content works well for him.

I bought this for my 7 year old shih-poo who wouldn’t eat his kibble after he was treated for coccidia. He LOVES this stuff and I don’t have to put any toppers on it to coax him to eat, he devours it when I put it in his bowl.

My dog is a pickey eater. She came down with IBS she was put on a DD diet by the vet. She wouldn't eat that food. I've tried this one and she eats all of it. She's not having problems so with her digestion a little expensive but if it works then its worth it.

I purchased FreshPet Sensitive Stomach & Skin because my 16-year-old miniature pincher was constantly having problems with diarrhea and soft stools. The results since switching to Sensitive Stomach & Skin have been phenomenal. Her stools are perfect and no more problems with diarrhea. I am so, so happy that she is doing so well on FreshPet.

My two chiwawa’s are 17 yrs old and have a difficult time eating because of their age and they have extremely sensitive stomachs. I heard about “fresh” dog food so I looked and found fresh pet. This is the BEST dog food. My dogs love it, they can eat it without problems and they have had no stomach issues. This is a game changer for my dogs health.

Made my dog sick. Looks like it was frozen solid then left out. My dog got sick the day I started feeding her and after I stopped the next day no diarrhea or sign of upset stomach. She’s never had this before and she has been eating this for 2 years but when the loaf is squishy and fall apart I guess it’s bad.
