A: After you freeze freshpet & thaw it, it turns into a water filled mush. I have only fed my 2 rescue senior dogs this for 11 yrs.

Keep in mind texture and moisture levels may vary after freezing, but this will not change the nutritional value of the food. Q: Is this a low fat product? My 6pound chihuahua has a super sensitive gi tract and evidently, Gallbladder sludge. He stays on a NO fat/super low fat diet.

Q: My local target has been out of this food for 2 weeks. It's the only food we have found that his stomach tolerates. Is there a way to stock sensitive stomach and skin more regularly?

A: Freshpet dog food is a complete and balanced food formulated for dogs. It should not be fed to cats as the only diet since cat nutrition requirements are different from dogs. It will not harm your cat if fed as a treat or occasionally as a supplemental recipe. But, we would recommend you check with your vet if you are using it as your pet's sole diet. My mini schnauzer has a super sensitive stomach! I put him on a homemade food that I have delivered every two weeks about two years ago, and it has worked wonders for him. Sometimes I get low before they can make another delivery and I was looking for a backup.. I put the ingredients of his homemade food into ChatGPT and asked it to find a food most like it and it came up with freshpet sensitive stomach. I added some into his regular food to see how he did and he liked it so much that now I buy this and add it to his food daily. No stomach issues at all and he is happy.

We tried the Tender Chicken Recipe and I can actually see pieces of real vegetables in the roll. The stuff smells pleasant- not at all like the canned dog food we usually buy. We thought our dog was getting sick because she wouldn’t touch her normal food. The second I put her bowl down, she devoured the whole bowl and licked it clean. She wasn’t ill, just sick of her regular food! And to be honest, I don’t blame her one bit. The other stuff in the gold can smelled gross.

We like to mix it with his crunchies and he devoured it faster than I’ve seen him eat before! He ate every last drop. I appreciate that it’s healthy with natural ingredients. No worrying about what’s in his food! He’s literally licking his chips and banging for more food once it’s done!

And it was nice to be able to give him because he has such sensitive to allergies but in a normal household, it’s probably not something that could be afforded because a roll would only feed my dog twice but my dog really did like it. I will say it was a little hard to mash up, but I did leave bigger clumps for my dog and the scent wasn’t horrible. It smelled like just like dog food.

I have a super picky 18 year old Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix, and she absolutely devoured this and wanted more! It smells good unlike other pre-packed wet dog foods and you can actually see some of the whole food ingredients in there. We are definitely switching to this from now on!

After many trial and errors with just about every canned dog food out there, we found Freshpet Select. Not only did little girl scarf it down but it didn’t upset her stomach like a lot of other dog foods do. It’s a little bit more expensive than canned food but it’s worth the switch.

I noticed when it sits out for about an hour it tends to dry. I love the packaging convenient role. Just slice a few down and wrap it back up. This is something I see myself continuing to use for my dog.

The real nature ingredients is always a good to especially with the brown rice is a favorite of his. It lasts maybe 3 to 4 days if eating alone but with a kibble a week. It's a little on the price side, but it's freshpet food.

The package is easy to open and it's easy to cut the roll of food into smaller portions. My dog gobbles it up and seems to like the taste. I also like that this recipe is geared specifically toward dogs with sensitive stomach/skin. The serving size is clearly listed on the packaging, which is great and makes portioning easy with no guess work. The only downside is that it is not feasible for me to make this food the main source of nutrition for my 70-lb German Shepherd as it would take 1 full roll per day for her and the price is just too high for that. Also, a large amount of refrigerator space would be required. Overall, this is a great quality dog food and I would feed it daily if I had a smaller dog or if the price was lower.

I sliced it up while he was outside and he came back in knowing there was something for him being made. The packaging clearly states the recommended feeding amount for my dog and has markings on the package make it easy to slice off for the perfect amount. The texture allows it to slice easily and I was able to portion it out for upcoming meals. I just broke it up after putting it into his dish. It does have a smell to it, but I didn’t think it was any different than any other canned meat product and didn’t find it unpleasant. There’s so many of his favorite ingredients in this from the US Farm Raised chicken to sweet potato and pumpkin that he ate it up without any issues. He can sometimes have an upset stomach so I like that this has so many benefits like the prebiotics, vitamins, and omega oil. Also, without the byproducts, preservatives, and fillers I feel like he’s getting a nice balanced meal when his stomach is having a sensitive day. This is a great product for pup and I recommend.
