Scissor Structure = Clipped Skin

Michelle - 3 days ago
The clipper window I found helpful, but unfortunately the scissor structure made it MUCH easier to accidentally clip baby’s fingers since you can’t ensure the bottom of the clipper is touching the nail before clipping. Had a much easier and safer experience after switching to the Safety First brand.

I love this clipper. We have one for each member of our home. For those who have sliced their children's fingers, did you ever use it on your nails to figure out how sharp it was? Nothing is 100% safe. I learned to use it on my and husband's nails first because it is super sharp! I also use it after bath when nails seem softer and my kid is calm (as a 3 yrs old can be). I've use this since he was a baby. Have I accidentally cut him, yes. Practice practice practice!

I first learned of these clippers as a nanny and they are AMAZING!!!!! You still have to be careful so not to nip baby, but they’re SO much easier for little fingers and squirmy babies than regular baby clippers. I give them to everyone who has a baby now!!

This clipper is incredibly sharp and dangerous. I initially thought it was safe because I had tried it a few times and felt confident using it. However, when I read the website and manual, they claim that it’s very safe for newborns. Unfortunately, I cut his finger and had a large cut after a few weeks. I strongly advise against buying this product.

This is the only product i bought from this overrated brand that was not a rip off. It does break very easily, but it’s also easy to repair. I like it.
DO NOT BUY THIS - RAZOR SHARP

This thing is UNNECESSARILY razor sharp! The little view window on top is completely pointless. It sliced off my 3 month old’s fingertip from the bottom up! No reasonable nail clipper should be sharp enough to slice through that much skin. Frida needs to recall this.

Hi Hannahz, our snipperclippers are actually designed with intentional safety features that we created because we know how scary it is to cut baby's nails. If something didn’t go as expected, we’d love to help—reach out at frida.com/help, and we can send over some tips!

Would absoutley NOT recommend. These are WAY too sharp for baby nails. I have 5 children and have never ever cut fingertips. Literally the first use of these cut babies fingertip right off. 😭 Sharper than any nail clippers I have ever had even as an adult. Frida please change this product!

Definitely wouldn't recommend for newborn nails. They are so unnecessarily razor sharp...took off a tiny bit of my 8 week old daughters finger tip... The overlapping blades make it so easy even with a super long nail. I'll be throwing them away.

I hated this thing. We tried it once and it just felt too flimsy and not sturdy enough. When I’m trimming my baby’s nails I want to feel secure and not struggle with it. I would recommend a typical adult pair vs this. The nail file also was weak and frustrating to use

Leaves jagged nails, if you can even cut them

Jo - 6 months ago, Verified purchaser
These are absolutely terrible clippers for little nails. The overlapping and angled shape of the blades makes it very difficult to cut the tiny shape of little nails and leaves them rough and jagged. If your little has slightly curved toenails it is impossible to cut them.

This nail clipper is far too big for the tiny newborn fingers. As many have also said in their reviews, this very easily nicked my sweet 6 week old’s thumb tip. Poor baby and very distressing to me as well. This thing is just too big and too sharp. The nail file is fine but this clipper set is inappropriate for the newborn phase and may be most appropriate for toddlers.

I love these clippers. The soft close makes them really easy to use with less risk of clipping too close on your baby's nails. Obviously can be tricky with a squirming baby but I've never once accidentally knicked her with these. I love to buy these for new moms if I don't see nail clippers on their registry or as just a backup pair to have.

This is a horrible product. Not safe AT ALL. I repeat DO NOT BUY. Completely cut my son’s finger and lots of blood. Frida Baby usually has great products but this is assuredly not one of them.

Sliced the tip of my infants thumb off !! A normal clipper could never. They need to come out with an electric one. This is absolutely garage why on earth would it need to be that thick & aggressive!?! You can’t even see where you’re cutting due to flawed design. Now reading reviews I’m not the only mama who’s experienced this!!
