About the Author
New York raised and Florida bronzed, Lesley Abravanel has covered the amusingly vapid celeb scene in South Florida for the Miami Herald and several illustrious supermarket mags since the Kardashians were fetuses. She has also chronicled the evolution of Florida's culinary scene, nightlife, celebrity culture, suburbia, and travel for such outlets as Miami.com, Maxim, The Forward, TripAdvisor, and the Daily Mail for, gasp, nearly 3 decades. In addition to penning several Frommer's books on Florida, she is also the author of the not-so-cheekily titled Florida for Dummies. On the sly, she is a ghostwriter for various organizations, personalities, and businesses. When she's not writing, she collects hot sauces, raises twin teens, and attempts to learn Swedish from her Stockholm-born husband.Jason Cochran is also the author of Frommer's London, Frommer's Disney World, Universal & Orlando, and Here Lies America. He was twice awarded Guide Book of the Year by the Lowell Thomas Awards (Society of American Travel Writers) and once by the North American Travel Journalists Association for his books on London and Orlando. His voice has reached millions of travelers, from the mid-'90s, when as a long-term backpacker he wrote one of the world's first travel blogs, to his long-running WABC radio show co-hosted with Pauline Frommer, to appearances as a commentator on CBS and for AOL, and to his work at Frommers.com, which under his editorship won Silver for Travel Journalism Website in the 2021 Lowell Thomas Awards.
