I ordered both mediums and larges in 3 colors. Timber (more of a golden tobacco color), olive (pretty dark olive green), and black (definitely black). If you look at the timber color you can see they are fitted in the thighs. If you have thicker thighs this may be a concern. I do not feel there is that much give in the material. They are a heavier fabric and the drawstring waist is comfortable. I think they are a good transitional pant as the fabric is a twill and not paper thin. Because they are a twill, they are not buttery soft. The fabric is a bit rough like new denim. These are not dressy and definitely a casual pant (jogger). The rise is higher which is better than plumber's crack every time you sit or bend. There was no difference in the width of the medium and large when I laid them on top of each other. If ordering, order both to compare! Front pockets are deep and not bulky. There are functional back pockets too. The ankle has a wider elastic which stretches and is comfortable. I can see them losing their color. eventually with lots of washing. I would not fully dry as there will be shrinkage. 97% cotton and 3% spandex. I am 5'3 and I had just a little bagginess for length around the ankle like the pictures. Bottom line, I think they would be ok and will keep the timber and olive especially as fall pants.
