GAMMA Sports Hellbender Pickleball Paddle

This is the second time I have purchased this paddle,that answers the question of “would you buy again “. We all tend to be in search of the perfect paddle that will magically improve our game and for me this was that paddle.

Love my Hellbender. The short handle & small grip is perfect. I could tell it was the correct choice after my first game.

great paddle for the money. Surface of the paddle is rough enough to create good spin for intermediate players.

I have been using the Gamma Hellbender for about 5 years and I love this paddle. For my 80th birthday I wanted to buy myself a new paddle. I started borrowing and using newer and more expensive paddles to see what I liked. I decided I couldn't find a better paddle than my Hellbender so that became my present to myself. The products are great and the customer service is the best.

It is a colorful paddle. It is also very fragile feeling when hitting balls. I don't prefer or recommend it if you are trying to up your game with a paddle.

Loved my Gamma Paddle until the outer band came apart! My paddle is over a year old so customer service will not repair or replace. It is in great condition, but not useable now. I will purchase a Selkirk going forward as they have lifetime warranty vs one year! I was advised by Gamma that paddles will only last about a year!

I love my Hellbender paddle itself. But I hate Gamma's customer service. With 5 months of purchasing my 2nd Hellbender, the rim around the paddle began to break away from the paddle surface and then a piece fell off completely. There had been no incident which would have caused such damage. When I sent photos to Gamma customer service they said it wasn't a manufacturing defect so I could not get the paddle replaced. I do not understand how a paddle that falls apart can be considered well manufactured. It plays very well. . . till it starts to fall apart.

i bought this paddle about a month ago. i really like the feel and the power, plus control i get from using it. the 4 stars are because it did not come with a cover and they did not have any in stock.

Gamma Sports, do not stop making this paddle. After nearly a year of playing with the Hellbender, it's still my go to paddle. The balance of control and power are ideal for the player who enjoys setting up their points. Spin is very good. Being a top spinner, I'm pleased with amount of spin still generated with it. The feedback from the paddle when you hit the sweet spot is ... well, its sweet!

From the first time I played with the Hellbender, I knew it would be my new go-to paddle. I use it for all rec and tournament play! It has great control and pop which makes for smooth dinking and solid drives.

I've used to play with the Compass, but love my Hellbender. I think it has the best touch, while still delivering the pop needed to put away winners. The Neucore core gives it a large sweet spot and great consistency. I'm not the only one who loves it, as several of my friends here in South Dakota have started using the Hellbender! Great paddle!

I've tried Selkirk, Paddletek, ProKennex, and most of the Gamma paddles and I've finally found the perfect paddle for me. I thought I loved a super light paddle but realized the soft game was lacking. My heavier paddles were great for drives and touch but my quick net game was lacking. Now the Hellbender comes out and I realize it's the perfect combination of power and touch game. I also found out that I can never go back to a standard shaped paddle and the extra length is amazing! I love Gammas grips too, perfect medium size and has nice edges. Get one if you're looking for the best all around paddle! I'm 160 lbs, 4.0-4.5 player!
