I spent the whole day today cleaning out my truck bed and driving to the lumberyard and the landscape yard for soil. You watch the video and it looks super easy to slide the boards right into the corners. I had my drill ready and everything to pre-drill the holes for the screws. The lumber doesn't fit! I really thought this was going to be an easy project I could do myself. I even had the lumberyard cut my boards to the dimensions I needed. Now I'm super frustrated and I'm going to have to figure out to notch the boards to fit. I can't return the lumber. And I've got to get all that dirt out of my truck for camping next week. I'm sure packing up and returning. The corners is also expensive considering what I've spent already on this project. I bought rough cut redwood because it was what the lumberyard recommended for garden beds.

I bought my first set of corners almost 15 years ago in the 12" size. This summer I redid my entire garden and wanted to make new, taller beds that are 23". I disassembled the old beds and removed the old rotting wood and rusty screws. The corners were in near perfect condition, including the paint. I was truly astonished by their good condition. I stacked two old ones and bought some new 23" corners. It is hard to tell from a few feet away which are new and which have been in the ground in NH for almost 15 years. This is a GREAT product!

Easy to use with the precut cedar planks also sold on the website. Durable and look good. Easy and forgiving to get 90 degree angle. Would be better with one extra drill hole and screw
YES! They are great

I was happy to see how heavy duty the metal was. I needed to buy other screws, the drill easily stripped the screw heads that came with it ( too soft metal?). I got the 23" tall brackets and used 2x6 redwood boards....there was an extra inch open left at the top once my boards were put in, so had to custom cut some wood strips to fill in the gap at the top. I purchased sets of the support braces for inside the corners but really didnt need them for my aprox. 3x6 box...it was heavy enough by itself. The corner brackets made the box easy to construct and make it square. I was able to use locally bought wood and cut it to the size I wanted down to the last fraction of an inch to fit my area perfectly. I doubt I would have been able to square the corners without the brackets that did that for me...as a 70 year old lady with no prior wood working skills I accomplished the task alone!

The top and bottom boards could use a few more screws. Get rid of the plastic caps, the caps are cheaply made and look bad after being in the sun. Allow customers to order custom length, even at a premium price.

The cedar wood they sell to go with these is great quality and the corner brackets as well. Just be aware that even though they sell the wood and brackets, they do not match up perfectly. I had an inch of open bracket in every corner. Ended up flipping the bed and sinking the bracket corners into the ground. I also treated the wood with Garden Seal and reinforced the 8' side of the bed with some extra cedar I purchased from Gardeners as well. Probably not necessary but wanted to make sure.
I would highly recommend this product

Love the product just wish I knew that "standard lumber" and "fall, milled lumber" were different and have different dimensions; this product fit's STANDARD (1.5") lumber. I'm lucky my mill had some.
The corners are good but the accompanying screws are bad

suggest using your own screws - the supplied ones strip and two of the heads broke off when I attempted to reposition.

I live in CA and we don't have cedar locally. The only option for rot resistant untreated boards is redwood, which is fine with me. I purchased the 23" corners, which fits best with two 2x12 boards. However sourcing properly sized boards was time consuming. I went to 4 lumber sources (including my two nearby big box chains) before finding properly sized boards at my fifth stop, a local hardware store with a large lumber yard. Firstly, one must find " smooth" (S4S) boards not "rough" cut ones, which are too thick for these corners. On top of that I discovered the actual width of the 12" boards at each dealer can vary, Actual widths I found were 11", 11-1/4", and 11-1/2", all sold as 12" boards, which resulted in leaving a gap between the bottom edge of the corners and the boards. This isn't a big deal since the bottom 1/4"-1/2" gap is easily hidden by mulch or gravel. This gap would be pretty obvious, however, if one plans to install the box on a patio. One small but important detail to note is that the edges not covered by the square plastic caps are a bit sharp. I recommend fixing the boards so that they sit about 1/8" higher than the aluminum edges to avoid accidentally cutting yourself in the future. Lastly, these are pricey, but not many options so far. I also trust Gardeners. com quality so don't mind paying a bit extra for peace of mind.

I use these to build planters for the Gardener's 5-gallon self-irrigating reservoirs. Standard 2x4's make strong frames. The corners are hollow and provide excellent framing for removable 1 1/4" PVC framing used for humidity control, cold snaps or bug screens. Line interior with greenhouse plastic to protect wood from water contact.
Doesn't fit rough cut lumber.

I was so excited when these arrived. They are well made and would have given my beds the contemporary rustic look I wanted. Unfortunately they are too narrow and my 2x12's won't slip into the channel.

This summer was the first time I grew a vegetable garden. I have spine issues, and these Bed Corners allowed me to build raised beds 24 inches high to make it easy to plant and take care. I grew tomatoes, carrots, lettuce and peppers. I just bought more corners to build two more beds for next summer. Can't wait.

I purchased 2" cedar from a lumbar yard not knowing that it would be rough cut which means it actually measures 2". The brackets did not fit and the cost of return shipping was too expensive.

The company should stress that milled lumber is much smaller in thickness then rough and you can't use rough cedar planks. Why would anyone buy milled lumber for an outside garden when it is much more expensive and unnecessary for a garden bed. I purchased rough cedar because t said it fit 2" thick lumber, but is DOES NOT. In fact I spent an entire day having to "shave" down the thickness for each board. It was a terrible experience. Also, they don't provide clear instructions on how to use the screws. Apparently you have to place the ends exactly right or you don't have a hole for each board. I used three boards for each side to make 22" high. If I had buried the ends then I might have a hole for each board. It would have been so simple for the manufacture to put holes that would hit the middle of any board. So stupid. I could not recommend this product until they make some slight modifications 1. Size them for rough cedar, if someone buys milled, it will still fit. 2. Place the holes in a spot that would hit the middle of each board so you don't have to design the layout just right.

I bought these years ago. After I had to tear the beds out last year, I donated the corners to a community garden and received a $1,000 donation slip for my taxes. I am sure they will use them for years. Definitely buy.

Love, love, love these! I bought two sets (four total) to accommodate and bring together my vegetable bed. They came exactly as described (strong, sturdy, 100% metal, black coated), except they sent me the wrong size (I ordered 12' brackets, I received 8' brackets). I was going to return them, but it was easier to just leave out the top plank. Overall, great purchase! I will be buying more as I build more garden beds!
The Raised Bed 23 inch Corners Require Re-engineering

Problems with length and placement of drilled holes: 1) 23 inch length assumes can use 2 pieces of dimensional cedar boards 2 inches thick and 12 inches wide (2 x12) which are in fact 1 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches. Most readily found, however, is 2 x 8 which in fact is 1 1/2 by 7 3/8, So using 3 2 x 8 boards leaves at least a inch gap. 2) The pre-drilled holes assume use of 2 2x12 boards so pre-drilled holes are not aligned for 3 2x8 boards. 3) The 6x1/4 inch screws should be stainless steel so they won't rust.
