Garmin Approach S62 GPS Golf Smartwatch

Very sophisticated watch with good features. However, I gave up, it is way too difficult to use.

I bought this Garmin new thinking it'd be great to use some of the newer features. I previously used a Garmin S10 with no issues at all. Since the day I bought the S62, the GPS does not register/load. I have tried updating the software, and looked at online message boards for ideas, but the GPS takes around 25-60min to register, if at all. This means it won't find golf courses until I'm well and truly into my round, it won't track the GPS for my runs until I'm home again and in the shower, and it won't keep the proper time for my timezone. Completely useless for my needs and doesn't perform in anyway like it is advertised. Consequently I've relegated my S62 to the drawer and have gone back to the old S10. Wouldn't recommend buying the S62.

I bought my Approach S62 recently, and it’s Great !! Lots of great features, haven’t figured them all out yet, but having fun with it !!

Good watch the only thing I don't like is the stat tracking and they never try to improve the programs some thing like the shots some times don't track and messes up the stats

Terrible - constant golf app problems. I got tired of hard resets & lack of dependability.

I brought mine when it originally came out. Shortly after, various functions like sleep tracking and body battery features stopped working. I was also having issues with locating courses. I recently upgraded to the S70...and wish my S62 never acted up. My Instinct went left too with tracking my health updates.

I was unsure of whether I would like the watch, even concerned on how it would feel during play. All of that changed once I got to the course. It really becomes part of you, to the point of not even feeling it, which I attribute to the band. It's awesome being able to see distance to hazards including Front, Middle and Back of the green. In the past with my rangefinder I would only shoot the flag which was not always the best choice. Now I know when to club up to ensure that I make GIR! I'm still adjusting to the features, especially when you play holes out of sequence but that will come in time. Great watch, enjoying the step feature along with heart rate. Temperature and Sunrise and Sunset are also cool. Plus its good looking as an everyday watch. Lastly, the battery has proven to be long lasting.

I am really looking fwd. to the new S70....I hope the new features really help.

i recently bought this watch and am still learning how it functions. The instruction manual isn't completely transparent and on the course I have trouble going back to a previous hole when I forget to score it or need to correct the score. Simply navigating around isn't easy. There doesn't seem to be a button to correct a mistake. The concepts are great and distances fairly accurate according to my Bushnell range finder. I suspect this will be a very good addition to my game when I learn how to use it.

I traded my S60 for the S62. I loved my S60, and the S62 is even better. Nice upgrade. It has everything I need and a lot more!

I've had this watch for several years now. The distances are always accurate and the course diagrams are very true to life

Love the watch. What a great upgrade from the S60 this has been.

I’ve owned it for a couple of years and the watch has become part of my required equipment. I’ve come to rely on it every round.

Love my S62 for golf, however, it seems to only collect my sleep data “when it darn well feels like it”. Very frustrating

This is my second S62. I enjoy the watch's features. It does a good job of balancing golf focused with other daily and activity features. When my watch face cracked straight across, I utilized the refurb trade in. Since receiving the watch, I am struggling to update the software. I think the watch from a watch aspect (robustness of watch, robustness of watch software running locally -on the watch, usability, etc.) are all really high, but the software updating platform is not as user friendly. I have iPhones and an iPad, some Chromebook, and a work PC that is locked for security purposes, which is a common situation, and there are no options to update the out of box preloaded software. The help solution is to find someone else to use their PC, which is not a very customer friendly option.

I have the S62 and the Z30 range finder - they work great together although pin location is not always 100% accurate - can't wait to pair with the club CT10 sensors (on order)

I like the ability to track my shot distance. I like the idea of tracking distance to a spot on the course but I find it very hard to arrow in on a particular spot. It occasionally jumps to a hole other than the one I am playing. That probably happens about once per round. I usually syncs automatically with my iPhone or iPad except when it doesn't. When it doesn't it takes a lost of screwing around to get it to sync.
