Yellow light (this bulb) vs. blue light
It took me a long time and too many light bulbs to figure this out, but blue light — the light that GE describes as “relax” and “reveal” — is the light that comes from your computer screen, TV, and mobile phone. It’s the color of light that all the “health news” articles tell you to turn off two hours before bedtime, so you can wind down for the night. Yellow light (and maybe even orange?) is this light bulb, which is the color that various color adjustment apps describe as “warm”/“more warm”. I wish I had found this light bulb sooner, and I also wish all these manufacturers would find a more accurate way to describe the light from their bulbs instead of all the marketing words like ‘reveal’ and ‘relax’ and ‘best for kitchen’, etc., which are almost meaningless. For example, GE calls this bulb Soft White, but their color description also shows that the color is on the yellow and orange end of the color spectrum. Argh! The only downside of this bulb is that to me, the light doesn’t look as ‘clear’ as the old incandescent bulbs (I miss those), but the yellow light is still way easier on my eyes than any of the blue light bulbs. I may just need to get one of those adjustable color spectrum LED bulbs.
