A: Hi Tish, thanks for reaching out about GEMS Magnetic Phone Umbrella. It depends on whether your phone or phone case has MagSafe capabilities. Here's how to attach your GEMS Magnetic Phone Umbrella: For Phones/Cases with MagSafe: The umbrella has a built-in magnet. Simply align the magnetic ring on the umbrella with the MagSafe ring on the back of your phone or MagSafe case. It should snap into place. For Phones/Cases without MagSafe: The GEMS Magnetic Phone Umbrella typically comes with a universal adhesive magnetic adapter (a magnetic sticker ring). Clean the back of your phone or phone case where you want to attach the adapter. Peel off the adhesive backing from the magnetic sticker ring. Carefully stick the ring onto the clean surface of your phone or case, pressing firmly to ensure good adhesion. Once the adhesive has had a moment to set, you can then attach the magnetic umbrella to this ring. Key things to note: Make sure the magnetic connection feels secure before letting go of the umbrella. The gooseneck arm is adjustable, allowing you to position the umbrella for optimal shade or protection. Some models have a fold-out ring holder stand for better grip and hands-free viewing. This little umbrella is exactly what I've been looking for! I live in Florida so I'm at the beach a lot, in my pool and just outside A LOT. But I constantly struggle with being able to see my phone screen for phone calls or to play music because of the suns glare so these umbrellas are so awesome!! It's got a pull out ring holder stand too! It's super adjustable and keeps my phone safe from the rain or water splashes and the sun. It attaches via a magnet on my phone and there's a sticky tape around it for phone cases that aren't magnetized. It's such a neat idea and I highly recommend it, especially if you're outdoors a lot.

I found this item a bit odd, but could see the potential use of it. The umbrella portion did not move up and down easily, and the magnetic holder was not strong enough to be able to use it properly. I had to hold on to it anytime I walked with it attached. I like the color and the material, but I can’t see it being too protective of rain if there’s any wind. The umbrella portion is quite flat. I think this will be best when used lounging at a pool to reduce the glare while reading an e-book or watching videos.

I was very curious what this item could be used for, Can always use helpful gadgets but this one just doesn't fit my needs. I'm not out in the sun with my phone that often and when not in use, what am I supposed to do with it. Might work for others, just not for me.

Well this is a funny, but handy little gadget. I did find it fell off of my phone easily, I removed my protective case and have a newer iPhone for the magnetic back, so beware. I do think it would come in handy poolside or down the shore to protect phone from glare and possibly overheating if outside for a bit.

This item has been used for just about everything that it was NOT meant for. My 2 year old has used this for a doll umbrella, my 8 year old made this into a hat for the dog, etc. My kids LOVE this thing. I can't rate how well it actually works but it's great as a toy!

Umbrella closes and has a secure button that wraps around, neck of umbrella is flexible and can be adjusted easily without umbrella flopping about and magnet works securely with any phone that also has the magnet ring attached to it. My only complaint is that the ring does not 360 turn which may have been a product defect. Other than that phone umbrella seems pretty sturdy and functions like a full size one to keep my phone in the shade and not overheated albeit looking a bit ridiculous while doing so. Overall I'd recommend to anyone specifically looking for a phone umbrella but let it be known that there are better options for keeping your phone from overheating. As a full disclosure I did receive this item in exchange for my honest feedback. Any opinions are my own.

What a fun little add-on for your phone! While you start out thinking of it as quirky, it can also block the sun to help with screen glare and it keeps the rain drops away. Plus, it's a conversation starter!

Is this thing supposed to be a joke? I’m happy to try out products as a target insider, but I’m not sure this thing really has a practical purpose. Do people really use these things to keep their cell phones dry? If so, it must be in a super light rain.

This umbrella is so cute! The MagSafe connects easily and has a very secure hold. The umbrella opens and closes easily. I use it more for sun protection because my screen protector always seems to make it harder to see my phone in bright light. Best part is the swivel grip that easily shifts for a good grip

This phone umbrella is basic but seems to do the job of protecting the phone from the rays of bright sunlight. The magnet is strong and keeps the umbrella connected to the phone. The interior ring (kickstand) rotates 360, which is a very nice feature! It holds my phone in the position I desire and makes hands-free viewing a cinch. The diameter of the umbrella is a good ratio for my phone for blocking sunshine. But, I am not willing to try it out in heavier rain or snow. Also, the material of the umbrella will certainly block sunshine, but it does not seem durable enough for precipitation. The extra perk for me is the snap that keeps the umbrella closed tight when not in use. Overall, it’s a neat little low-tech gadget.

Received this today. While I think it is a good idea I feel it is too bulky and not very feasible. Would be too big to carry in your pocket or purse. Would require planning since rain comes out of the blue here.
