Easy Replacement
We recently purchased a house with an Emergency Release on a Garage door. Unfortunately it was missing a key. Looked up part number and found this replacement. It arrived quickly and installed seamlessly. We feel a lot better knowing that we can now get into the garage if power fails.

Good solution.
My garage door is the only entrance to my garage and I always worried about not being able to get in if the power goes out. This is a great solution that I didn't know existed. Was going to get the battery backup but mounting problems will need lots of compromises. The key string works. I only wish the standard length were a bit longer, or an option for it.

Peace of mind!
Product is exactly what I wanted. Installation was quick and easy. Works great! I can now access our garage if the power goes off or something prevents normal functioning of our Genie opener. Since we have no other door into the garage, this is essential! I would recommend this emergency release kit to a friend with similar needs.

Quality kit - Glad I purchased it
Installing this Emergency Release Kit (Keyed Garage Door Lock) is a must if you have an automatic garage door opener in a garage with no other way in/out (i.e. garages with no side door entrance). This kit included clear installation instructions (but it required me to purchase a 3/4 inch drill bit). This is a "universal kit" made by Genie which means it is also compatible with several other garage door openers (it works great with my Craftsman automatic garage door opener). Now, after installing this kit, I don't have to worry anymore IF/WHEN when the power goes out here, because I can still open my garage door manually with this Emergency Keyed Garage Door Lock installed. Quality kit - Glad I purchased it directly from Genie
