Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Target Messed Up Everything

First, the delivery driver delivered my Kids dress to the wrong address. That's why in the picture there's no door number of the picture that they sent sayingthat it was delivered because I live upstairs not downstairs then when they sent the clothing on my next package that came in All of the items were wrinkled. None of them were in protective sleeves or protective rappers they were just thrown into the shipping bag all wrinkledeven the tags or wrinkled up. Looks like they bought it up and bagged it up and then they sent the third package two days late. said it was gonna be here on the 15th and it was here on the 17th, which messed up my plans I will never shop at target again because this doesn't make any sense.

Disappointed in sizing options

This uniform dress is so cute, but the sizing stops at XL. There are no plus size options as there are with other uniform pieces. My girl was very disappointed as she teally liked the style of this dress. The quality also seemed great. Kids of all sizes want to have fashionable choices.
