Product spare part unavailable
The Product itself is "okay", although stabilization is extremely decreased while in maxhyperview mode. Especially for skiing, biking or water sports that's super annoying and not worth it. The field of view is shifting quite much along the edges and the quality part of the recordings is not much larger than with the standard lens. That's why I wouldn't recommend it. Besides. . To protect the lens from dust, the mod comes with a silicone cover. Unfortunately they are easy to loose and GoPro does not have any spare parts at all. Without the cover it's impossible to keep your camera and the mod clean. In my opinion a no-go for a top level company promoting high quality products.

MAX 2.0 quality of the lens
Regardless of the image quality of the lens, the build quality is not what I expected. Purchased on 11 March 2024, the black coating around the MAX 2.0 lens is coming off. It comes off with humidity. I mainly use my Hero12 camera on my bike, and once on my paddle. I had already noticed this defect with the MAX lens.

Does not fit properly
You should not usually rely on first impressions. Nevertheless, it is very disappointing that the mod does not fit properly on my new GoPro Hero 13! It can't be rotated completely and sits crooked. I don't know if it's just an optical problem or if this affects the function. I hope support can be contacted at some point. So far unsuccessful. I can't see any significant difference in the first test shots.

Max Lens Mod 2.0
I have already written to you once that I cannot remove the original lens from my Gopro 12 black by hand. That's why I can't swap the Max Lens. Unfortunately, no one has reported yet. I am very disappointed, it is absolutely not customer friendly. Greetings Walter Pliem

Nice mode with durability issues
I am very happy with wide angle and different video resolutions offered with new max lens mod. What bothers me is the fact that i am using it maybe for a month now and after kiting in salt water black paint around the lens is comming off by it self which is quite odd to be honest.

Woth buying
I bought it for my skitrip, the first day i used my gorpo hero 12 without the lens. The next days with the lens. What a difference. Incredible, horizon lock is also awesome. Only negative fact is that the protection casing is not compatible wth the gopro anymore when using the lens.

If someone I knew was buying the hero 12 as I did I would reccomend the purchase of the max lense mod 2.0 with it straight away. The wide angle but with horizon lock in all modes is next level and since it’s waterproof I leave it on my camera until I actually want to take some underwater shots that require the flat lense and switch just for that

Expands your view, unless it gets wet. Beware of the app!
The FOV expansion is pretty great.I used it for snowboarding and it catches a lot of action from both helmet and selfie stick. However, the 3-in-1 gopro selfie stick is too short to catch the action even with MLM 2.0. The other thing is the hydrophobic coating. Last weekend there were clouds atop the resort, and the lens has accumulated dozens of tiny droplets. These didn't shake off even with wind, and the footage requires heavy post-work, or simply scraping, unfortunately. Another point of note is the QUIK app. It's very, very, very slow to sync your settings from gopro (using 12black). Sometimes it nukes your settings if you select something. I have one ruined run, because previewing camera through app disabled my lens mod. This resulted in footage looking like it was shot through a ship's window. I'm sure the lens mod will be great for mountain biking in dry conditions and some underwater shots. Tiny rain sticks too much. But maybe it'd stick to any other lens too?

So wide, Its Pointless!
I bought it for my walking tours and its just too wide for me. I'm sure it will come in useful at some point. I wasn't going to review, but gopro insist with there spam email, and request a catchy title. I quite liked mine as, its so wide you miss the point. anyhow move on to more relevant reviews and have a good day. Gopro stop sending me requests to do things for you. I'm the customer, i've paid you

Still playing about
Initially thought it wouldn't but you need to pull and twist original lens cap to remove. Early days with a GoPro and Still learning how best to set it up. Max lens 2 gives a great field of view, but not convinced it is what I needed. Time will tell.
