We air fried these per the directions and the inside was very slimy. We're disappointed, and I'm currently trying not to think about how we wasted money on fish fillets with white goo inside.

I was hoping to find a flaky White filet of fish. I didn't know fish could be sliced that thin. It was less than 3/16 overall the ratio was 90% bread and 10% fish

We understand that this is an important issue for many of our consumers. Gorton's does not use any GMO/ Bioengineered seafood. Our coating does contain some Bioengineered ingredients as many US crops are bioengineered including soybeans, canola, corn, and cottonseed oil.
All Beer Battered does is add an earthy taste to the breading and makes the fish slimy.

These are so good! I typically stay clear of frozen breaded fish, I don’t remember ever having a good experience. But these are delicious and the perfect consistency (I used an air fryer). I made fish tacos tonight and they tasted even better than usual. This product also cut down on my prep time. And I love that they are wild caught!

I have been buying these regularly for a very long time, but lately every single bag has at least one or two holes in the bottom, and I don't trust the freshness or quality to purchase them anymore. Last time I was in the store I checked every bag of the beer battered, crunchy breaded, and crispy battered had holes in the bottom of the packaging in the same spot on every package. Please up your quality control or packaging quality. Until this is resolved, I'll have to find another brand, which is really frustrating.

I’ve been a HUGE fan (and consumer) of Gorton’s Beer Battered Cod Fillets forever! Best for fish and chips at home. BUT I bought a box last week, my husband made dinner…and right away I could see that they were so much smaller! Maybe HALF the usual size…like McDonald’s shrinking their fish sandwiches and not lowering the price. We don’t go there anymore. Dairy Queen, of all places, has the best cod fillet sandwiches. I guess that’s where we’ll be getting our cod fillet fix from now on. Let me know, Gorton’s (my old family favorite) if you go back to your five star standard. 🫤😞

Very disappointed in this product. The overly thick batter was nothing like the package photo. Batter to fish ratio was 70:30. Fish fillet was tasty though.

Thanks for leaving a review on our Beer Battered Fish Fillets. At Gorton’s, we understand that this is an important issue to many of our consumers. Bioengineered (BE) is another word for Genetically Modified Organism (GMO). Gorton’s does not currently use any GMO/BE seafood. Bioengineered/Genetically Modified ingredients are ingredients whose DNA has been altered for a specific reason. Examples of GMO efforts include those designed to allow crops to use less water, be grown on less land and be more resistant to weeds and pests. I don’t usually eat fish— but this is so good! If you cook it as directed, it’s got that crunchy texture on the outside. It tastes amazing. Good way to mix up meals throughout the week instead of just having chicken, beef, or turkey.
