We purchased 2 of the black book cases. Some of the pieces were missing the pre drilled holes, one of the springs in the hinges was broken, also they are not soft close and do slam, the fluting has big chunks of glue between that you can see, there were numerous chips on the fluted panel and the main bookcase that I had to color in with a sharpie, the anti tip straps are placed in a spot that you see when they are attached, I want to take these back but my husband won’t disassemble them so that I can. They do look good from far away.

This book case was terrible to put together. It fell apart and the hardware that came with it was not strong enough at all to hold it up we had to use our own screws to secure it. Especially being 500 dollars

This piece is nice and looks good in person. However, it came to me missing 5 parts (the ones to assemble the arch and magnet close for the cabinet - important!). I contacted customer service and the manufacturer can’t provide them (lead time of 8+ weeks). Target doesn’t know when it’ll be back in stock. My only option is to hope a full cabinet comes in stock sooner than later or return to the store. Huge downer.

I LOVE the final look and quality of this piece. Definitely feels like an Arhaus or Anthropologie dupe. However, needed a rubber mallet to get a portion of this together because it didn’t line up while assembling. The door hardware/hinges were also a bear to align. However, if you are handy at all and confident in assembly- this will be a great addition!! once this was complete and extra lights installed, it makes for an eye-catching piece!!

Looks Beautiful and I love the color, but it’s not worth $500. $200 at best…it’s a very soft “wood” material and not incredibly sturdy. Lightweight, so would definitely need braced down if putting heavy items on it or if curious, climbing kiddos are around.

I bought 2 of these and only one had a slight problem with a shelf but I was able to fix it. I have put many pieces of target furniture together and this is definitely one of the better pieces. It is heavy and when built properly it does not wobble. I do have a few tips. In the instructions it says to put the screws in the backing before you but the cabinet doors on DO NOT DO THAT. I recommend standing the piece up and putting the doors on and adjusting them to your liking on a level surface and then put the screws in the backing. 2nd thing. If you put the doors on and there is a big gap on the top you need to partly unscrew the hinges attached to the cabinets and raise the doors up as high as you can and screw them back. 3rd. If there is a big gap in between the cabinets you need to loosing the screw on the hinges closet to the doors. The instructions do explain this but apparently it is over looked by many putting this together. By loosing the screw on each hinge you can lessen that gap. Overal I am happy with these but I do wish they were a little more reasonably priced.

I fell in love with the style of this bookcase online, but the quality is subpar at best. The assembly was easy enough, but there were multiple areas where the pre-drilled holes were misaligned and caused damage to the piece when the cam locks were tightened - we couldn’t tighten them 180 degrees because it had broken through the thin panel on the back of the bookcase. Lots of areas in the front of the shelving and arch that weren’t sanded prior to being painted. It just looks sloppy, I expected so much better quality from Magnolia and for the price point. The only reason we aren’t returning is because we spent the better part of 2 hours putting it together. Buyer beware.

Please save your money and do not buy this item. Nothing lines up. If it comes damaged, they will offer a whole $50 back as the item is always out of stock. Waste of money. I wouldn't pay $50 for it.
