I just made egg salad and added this to it and took a bite and it tasted like chemicals! I smelled the ingredients I used and when I smelled the ground mustard it smelled like chemicals/plastic. Wasted 2 expensive eggs! It’s worth it to spend the $$ on the McCormick instead

I made homemade Mac and cheese as I have many times before but this was a new jar of mustard powder. The dish had a metallic aftertaste like baking soda or something bitter. I had to throw it away-which is heartbreaking to dump money and good cheese like that. I knew the milk was good and cheese was delicious so it took me a bit to figure out what went wrong. I just thought to check the reviews here and it seems I’m not the only one who is experiencing this problem.

Very bitter product. Based on research: some mustard seeds (this is made from ground mustard seeds) are bitter. I made the Bobby Flay cole slaw dressing that is usually on the sweet side. Added it to the cabbage before I tasted it! I'm hoping given some time the bitterness will subside. "Homemade mustard can be bitter due to the presence of compounds called glucosinolates"

This is not ground mustard. It tastes like ground chemicals. I would not recommend purchasing. If you buy authentic ground mustard then you will not enjoy this one. It will turn anything you cook bitter!

This stuff is NASTY! I've made homemade macaroni and cheese many times with ground mustard. I picked this up while I was at Target and it ruined my latest batch of macaroni and cheese. It was so bitter that it was inedible. Don't waste your money on this garbage.
