Absolutely needed if you purchase the bassinet. Newborn loved it and felt snug.

We ordered the newborn insert the next day, and it helps limit the startle reflex.… pair that with the halo sleep sack with her arms out, and we are getting a few hours of sleep at a time where she stays in her bassinet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was not worth it. It doesn’t even fit nicely in my halo bassinet. I wanted something that would be snug on my baby, not whatever this is, it does literally nothing. I might have bought it for a different purpose than advertised, but it should have at least fit in my halo bassinet. It did not, it was so loose. Multiply people tried to fit it properly but it didn’t work. If any desperate parents are out there wondering if this will help your baby sleep better, don’t get this. Companies prey on desperate parents. Do t get this.

Bought this as soon as I knew about my new grandson. (September)Didn’t realize that warranty wouldn’t be honored. When the clips started breaking. Didn’t start to use until 2/19/24 Extremely disappointed in the quality. Especially considering the Bassinets ranking.

This worked well for the newborn period while it lasted. For $60 you would think it would be durable. Almost every plastic piece that holds it in place broke off within just a few weeks. It was handled very carefully, I'm honestly shocked. Good luck getting it off the bassinet for a wash. Very disappointed in the quality. It's absurd that it costs so much.

Our baby would only sleep in a snuggle me, which wasn’t safe. We searched high and low for something similar that would create the same feeling. This insert did just that. This allowed our newborn to finally sleep and gave us a peace of mind. If you are on the fence about it - just do it. This was the best 2 am panic purchase!

Item was fine and easy to install, it just didn’t help my baby at all. Back to the drawing board.

It creates a more snuggled environment when they’re so small. The transition to no insert once he outgrew it went smoothly as well. We’d definitely recommend it for anyone with a bassinest.

My newborn doesn’t sleep great at night and he refuses to nap in his bassinet more than 15ish minutes during the day. I have the Swivel Sleeper 3.0 and bought this newborn insert hoping it’ll improve his sleep problems. I may have seen a slight improvement using this insert, but when I took it off to wash, 3 of the clips that hold it on to the bassinet broke. I was being extremely careful and followed the instructions. The plastic the clips are made of have no flexibility at all and are just barely big enough to shove onto the top of the bassinet. The clips on the one I received are gray, while the ones in the picture are clear. I’m no engineer but I suspect the clear plastic has more flexibility and for some reason halo has switched to the gray plastic. I’m shocked that this has gone through their product design and testing process. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if halo did not test this at all. Customer service kindly sent me a new one, but it has the same clips. I consider this product a total waste of money. I gave 2 stars because it might have gotten me an extra half hour of sleep over a couple days.
