Q: This leaves their hands free, what do you recommend covering their hands with so they don't scratch themselves at night? Can you tuck the arms in the halo sleepsack?

A: This is the Halo Sleepsack, which is designed for babies too old to be swaddled (babies who roll). Halo also makes a velcro Swaddle, which covers the arms and hands. You can always cover hands with mittens to prevent scratching, but our NICU nurses told us that the benefits of letting the baby explore its hands outweigh the risks of scratches, while heal quickly.

Q: How do I tell which Halo swaddles have a TWO WAY zipper? I find the inverted zippers difficult for a squirming baby.

A: HALO here! We've updated all current models to include an inverted zipper. Currently we do not offer a method to determine which SleepSack will have a two-way zipper, so you may need to look at the product images to confirm its zipper style. Our products with the two-way zipper will have a zipper cover at the top of the SleepSack. The inverted zippers do not have this cover.

A: HALO here. The 100% cotton SleepSacks are rated a 0.5 TOG which means they are ideal for room temperatures that reach 75 - 80 degrees Fahrenheit. If you need something warmer, we recommend our velboa or micro-fleece SleepSacks.

A: ALO TOG recommendations are a guideline to help parents select which material is best. All babies run at different temperatures and are comfortable with different levels of insulation. Please observe your babies behavior and temperature for the first few days and adjust if needed. The TOG rating should only be used as a guide. Please keep in mind that layering allows great flexibility in keeping babies warm and cozy without overheating. The SleepSack Wearable Blanket is suitable for a wide range of temperatures by adjusting the clothing worn underneath it. Babies can wear anything from just a diaper, to a long sleeve bodysuit or a cotton coverall.

A: HALO here. We DO NOT recommend using a SleepSack Wearable Blanket that does not correspond to your baby’s current size. The purpose of the wearable blanket is to keep your baby from having any excess material that may bunch up around the baby’s nose or mouth. If the baby is wearing a wearable blanket that is too large, there is a potential for the baby's head to slip through the neck hole or for excess material to bunch up around their face.

Switched my son to this style Halo around 4 months. Currently he’s 14 months and they are still our favorite. Wash/dry exceptionally well (no shrinking or fading) and have reordered in every size so far. You can’t go wrong with these.

We started with the swaddle sleep sack with our baby's arms tucked in, then let his arms out with the velcro part around his torso so he felt secure, and then he graduated to the sleep sacks. Every time he outgrows one, we purchase the next size up! If we have another baby I will use them again. LOVE

We have been using these for our baby since he was tiny, and they have allowed him to sleep comfortably while providing us with peace of mind. They work in both the summer and the winter, and I like the ones with the dual zipper because they make diaper changing easy.

They are lightweight - which is great here in Alabama. They are comfortable for our baby and they are super easy to use - which is great for babysitters and grandparents :)

This is our first Halo brand product and we’re honestly so surprised by how popular this brand is, and specifically this product, because we found it to feel incredibly cheap. The overall design is fine (nothing notable though), but the fabric is VERY thin & rough (even after washing prior to using) and the overall construction feels very cheap/like it will quickly deteriorate with use and washes. This feels like super cheap bed sheet material at best. We purchased the Kyte Baby sleep sack, which is SO much softer, with a much better zipper design and just overall seems much comfier for our little one (definitely worth the higher price point). We’ll definitely be returning this, since we only used it once before replacing it with a much nicer option.

Note our 100% cotton wearable blanket is designed to be a thinner, lower TOG option since we know some parents like to layer sleepwear or use it during warmer months. We also offer fleece and velboa, which are thicker, higher TOG options. Nevertheless, we appreciate the detailed feedback.

The cream color is more of a pink. After about two months of wear, the zipper made a hole on the small piece of fabric that covers the zipper. The one thing I really liked about this blanket is that it’s very soft.

I’ve bought this in every size for my daughter since about six months old. Still using the XL size for my two year old. Light weight sleep sack that gets softer with each wash. I would recommend this product.
