Q: This leaves their hands free, what do you recommend covering their hands with so they don't scratch themselves at night? Can you tuck the arms in the halo sleepsack?
submitted by plueberry - 5 years ago
A: The SleepSack can be worn over any pajamas to ensure a comfortable night's sleep. We would not recommend you tuck baby's arms into the SleepSack.
submitted byadenandanaisQA - 5 years ago
A: This is the Halo Sleepsack, which is designed for babies too old to be swaddled (babies who roll). Halo also makes a velcro Swaddle, which covers the arms and hands. You can always cover hands with mittens to prevent scratching, but our NICU nurses told us that the benefits of letting the baby explore its hands outweigh the risks of scratches, while heal quickly.

A: Hi there, HALO Here. This product can cover any PJ's to ensure a comfortable night's sleep. We do not recommend tucking arms into the halo sleepsack.

Q: How do I tell which Halo swaddles have a TWO WAY zipper? I find the inverted zippers difficult for a squirming baby.
submitted by KSM - 4 years ago
A: HALO here! We've updated all current models to include an inverted zipper. Currently we do not offer a method to determine which SleepSack will have a two-way zipper, so you may need to look at the product images to confirm its zipper style. Our products with the two-way zipper will have a zipper cover at the top of the SleepSack. The inverted zippers do not have this cover.

A: "Our products with the two-way zipper will have a zipper cover at the top of the SleepSack. The inverted zippers do not have this cover." answer is not true. i have a one way zipper and has cover.

Q: Is this cotton sleepsack warm enough for winter? The bedroom is about 65 degrees.
submitted by BethanyO - 4 years ago
A: HALO here. The 100% cotton SleepSacks are rated a 0.5 TOG which means they are ideal for room temperatures that reach 75 - 80 degrees Fahrenheit. If you need something warmer, we recommend our velboa or micro-fleece SleepSacks.

A: HALO here. This sleepsack is rated 0.5 TOG and is ideal for room temperatures that reach 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmest items we have are the micro-fleece and velboa sleepsack swaddles.

Q: Will baby be warm enough wearing this along with footie pajamas in a room that is 69 degrees?
submitted by tori - 2 years ago
A: ALO TOG recommendations are a guideline to help parents select which material is best. All babies run at different temperatures and are comfortable with different levels of insulation. Please observe your babies behavior and temperature for the first few days and adjust if needed. The TOG rating should only be used as a guide.
Please keep in mind that layering allows great flexibility in keeping babies warm and cozy without overheating. The SleepSack Wearable Blanket is suitable for a wide range of temperatures by adjusting the clothing worn underneath it. Babies can wear anything from just a diaper, to a long sleeve bodysuit or a cotton coverall.

Q: is the sleep sac flame retardant or resistant
submitted by nana - 2 years ago
A: Halo here! NO. The fabric and fibers used to make our garments are not chemically treated in any way.
submitted byAden and Anais - 2 years ago
Q: My 4 month daughter is tall and skinny- she weighs 13 pounds and is 25 inches long. Can I go up a size and order a medium so she grows into it?
submitted by Leah - 3 years ago
A: HALO here. We DO NOT recommend using a SleepSack Wearable Blanket that does not correspond to your baby’s current size. The purpose of the wearable blanket is to keep your baby from having any excess material that may bunch up around the baby’s nose or mouth. If the baby is wearing a wearable blanket that is too large, there is a potential for the baby's head to slip through the neck hole or for excess material to bunch up around their face.
submitted byaden and anais - 3 years ago
Q: All the sizes appear to be for 0-24 months. Can you tell me what small, medium etc sizes are for baby length and weight.
submitted by Mary - 3 years ago
A: HALO here. The sizes for our Wearable Blankets are as follows (sizing and weight is based on the recommended size and weight of child, not the product):
Newborn (0-3m): 19-23 in. and 5-10 lbs,
Small (0-6m): 23-26 in. and 10-18 lbs,
Medium (6-12m): 26-30 in. and 16-24 lbs,
Large (12-18m): 30-35 in. and 22-28 lbs,
X-Large (18-24m): 35-40 in. and 26-36 lbs.
submitted byaden and anais - 3 years ago
Q: What size does the L and XL fit?
submitted by Sissypot - 3 years ago
A: HALO here! Large fits within 12-18 months and XL fits within 18-24 months.
submitted byaden and anais - 3 years ago
Q: The description states you can swaddle baby with arms in, by face, or out. Is this accurate or does this work only with baby's arms out?
submitted by Tbueno25 - 4 years ago
A: HALO here! We only recommend using the Wearable Blanket in the arms out position, as intended. If you're looking for an arms-in option and your baby isn't showing signs of rolling over, you can try our SleepSack Swaddles instead. They have a 3-way design that includes an arms-in option.

I’m normally very pleased with the halo sleep sacks but this one in particular is very thin and feels of low quality. The print is beautiful though. Stick with the original one

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love these sleep sacks! We received the swaddle version in a sampler box, and it quickly became our go-to. It was so easy to transition her directly into these sleep sacks from the swaddles. I love that they’re light and breathable but also a solid blanket to keep her warm. High quality and can withstand lots of post-blowout washings. Also cute patterns. We’ll be using these in every size until she outgrows sleep sacks altogether

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a perfect sleepsack for our 7 month old. It's cozy yet a thinner material so he doesn't get overheated, zips up so easily for naps and nighttime, armholes are a good size where its not a struggle to get his arms in and out, and he has plenty of room to move his legs and feet. We like it so much we bought another one in a different print! And after several washes, they're still in great shape.
