Q: Do I need to thaw? Can I use my oven style air fryer?

submitted by psj - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi there! Our Franks in a Blanket should remain frozen until time of preparation. We only have conventional oven instructions at this time but if you do prepare in your air fryer, please ensure they reach internal temp of 165 degrees. Thanks!

submitted by Natalie - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi Natalie - Thanks for the question! The size of the frank is about 2 inches. We hope this helps!

I bought these last week. Cooked one batch and thought they were salty. Tried them naked then with 5 different sauces nothing helped my issue. I just cooked the other batch and same results. Inserts was great to hold franks but could use something less to help with price. Pasty puff was good but may could use alot more. Tastes cheap. First item I've tried from company and maybe last.

I’m really annoyed with the bad reviews on here because the reviewers must not know how to cook, or not know that food is expensive. Yes they are expensive. I wish they were cheaper so I could buy them more. However I could just keep eating and eating them. I’ve tried other brands and they just aren’t as good. If following the directions makes them overcooked that doesn’t mean the product is bad. It means you don’t know how to cook. Just take them out of the oven when they are done like a normal person. As far as the person who said they fall all over the box when you take out half - well just put the empty holder back in like it was before you took it out. Problem solved. Love these little hot dogs!!!

My mother used to make little hot dogs and hamburgers for New Year’s Eve when we were kids. Mustard and relish mix and also ketchup. Brought back fond memories. Taste as expected/decent. Mine didn’t burn-I kept an eye on them! The air fryer idea sounds good-I’ll try it! They are pricey-

I purchased this product, the little Frank's in puff pastry. Not really sure just how I expected them to be. However, I found them to be flavorless and a little annoying. They didn't go well with mustard OR catsup. Nothing shown on the pkg as to how better to serve them. The inside trays for these little piggies was/is a waste of packaging. Once you have baked 1 tray, the other just rambles all over the box until it is baked at another time.

At first, i loved these babies but hated how long i had to preheat the oven, and then cook these for about 20 minutes. depending on the ovens mood some of the puff pastry would burn. But the air fryer really unlocked the magic. pop them in for 8 mins at 400 and they come out perfect everytime. no burned pastry so it just crumbles away while leaving the frank super juicy, which of course benefits it for flavor!

I cooked them in 400 degree oven says 20 to 24 minutes I checked at 17;never even begin to puff was already burnt took them out early burnt dried hot dog When you buy them not wrapped in box so probably frost bitten. Way too much money to end up in the garbage. I threw the ones that were not cooked out of my freezer wouldn't waste my time even trying to cook the rest very disappointed bin Hebrew hotdogs now Lousy cooking instructions Terrible packaging inside box

Hydrolyzed soy protein. Not necessary and makes this useless for anyone with a soy allergy. Stop putting soy in EVERYTHING.

Caught on fire

Our last batch of pigs in a blanket were cooked according to instructions on parchment, and they caught on fire about minute 15 cracking our speed of a new window, and we had to dispose of the whole machine. Replacing the speed of them was expensive. Cooked at a 375° temperature because of the convection efficiency.

Cooked onky 5 to start on Air roast setting of 375 for 14 mins. My rule of thumb is 25 degrees less temp and 30% less time than conventional oven. Turned out well! It’s the same Hebrew National taste you love but sized like a cocktail frank.

PERFECT Football watching food, much lower in calories and carbs than you would think for such a decadent tasting hand food. I serve with stone ground Dijon mustard and cauliflower veggie tots.....makes a snack into a satisfying meal for less than 13 minutes in your counter top convection oven. * Trick for not sticking to foil lined baking tray is to spray foil w/ Baker's Joy. SOOOO YUMMY !!! and much healthier than you would think !!

My kids hate these

1 out of 5 stars
Sstar22 - 2 years ago

My kids hate these, even though they were a fairly expensive box. They seem too much. Prefer a sweeter breading texture like a cornbread breading or crescent roll breading. We gave these a shot and I baked exactly according to the package instructions, but it took way longer for the puff pastry to even brown up and puff a little bit not even a lot. By that time the hot dogs inside were dried out.
