About the Book

"Michelle has always had a problem with the word "fearless." Facing your demons doesn't mean you're fearless; it means you fear them, but you do it anyway! So for 100 days she faced 100 of her fears, and the message went viral. Written in Michelle's hilarious, honest voice and driven through storytelling, expert interviews, and practical tools, Hello, Fears conveys the lessons she learned from facing each fear and inspires readers to make the right choice - the brave choice. For readers of Girl, Wash Your Face and 100 Days of Brave, Hello, Fears is a growth mindset personal development book for those who are ready to push past their comfort zone and embrace their fears"--

Book Synopsis

For readers of motivational books like DARING GREATLY and GIRL, WASH YOUR FACE, this growth mindset personal development book for those who are not only ready to achieve, but brave enough to push out of their comfort zone and find authentic happiness.

In this inspiring and motivational new book, founder of the Hello Fears social movement Michelle Poler is challenging you to say hello! to your fears and find meaningful happiness outside the traditional definition of success by living with courage and tapping into your full potential.

With kick-butt attitude and a humorous *wink*, Michelle breaks down each set-back she battled on the road towards joyful purpose. Her stories and practical strategies encourage you to name, accept, and embrace what's holding you back so you can be the heroine in your own life, not the victim.

Hello, Fears is an honest, empowering guide to living alongside what scares you. Our fears reveal what we care about the most, so each and every challenge is an opportunity to grow, hustle, and be your authentic self--unapologetically.

Perfect for readers of Untamed and Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle, Girl, Wash Your Face and Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis or listeners of The United States of Anxiety podcast on NPR. On the professional side, if you liked Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh, you'll love Hello, Fears.

Having the courage to face our fears, instead of trying to live fearlessly is what Michelle teaches in her book. We all have fears, it’s about learning how to show up when they arise. This book is a game changer. Michelle is an avid storyteller, and through her stories she shows her most vulnerable self and invites us to question the life we’re living and find it’s full potential. Aside from the stories inside the book, it’s written in a way that you can open any chapter and start reading. Also, her passion for design is pictured in every single page. Every page you open is more beautifully designed than the previous one. I first read Hello, fears! In 2020, and now (2023) just finished reading the new chapter on Abundance. I took her abundance class, and it’s just amazing how she translated everything she spoke about into these pages. This book is an invitation to live life to the fullest, and who wouldn’t benefit from that? I totally recommend you read this book. At the end of the day, what’s the BEST that can happen?

I just finished the final words of Michelle’s book and I am inspired, in awe, and sad that it is over. In all honesty, I had never heard of Michelle before a friend invited me to join her on the Hello Fears Launch Team. It was instant admiration and love of all the things she is doing. This book is down to earth and an easy read – because that is who Michelle is. She strives to be real, authentic, and ensure you feel as if you could actually be her friend, sipping matcha in her living room. However, the message and insight she brings to this book call you to dive ALL IN. Her writing style is light, whimsical, and upbeat – but the content is deep. It is a delicate balance and she has done this beautifully. In addition, Michelle brings her branding and design style to everything in this book – from full color and beautiful quote pages to summary infographics, this book is so beautifully crafted. Finally, Michelle brings such intentionality to this book. It is more than just a book with inspirational words, it is a movement and a call for real action. Each chapter includes exercises and if that wasn’t enough, she has created an entire website chalked full of resources to inspire additional growth. Michelle has clearly laid her heart on the table, and what’s more she has created a path for us to take steps beyond this book and actually accomplish the things we dream and overcome the fears that hold us back.

I have never conaidered myself a fearful person and when I became aware of this book I was very curious. Especially after watching a bit of Michelle and realizing the connection to her 100 day challenge which I had been aware of. Then this beautiful book arrived I couldn't stop. The layout is creative and quirky and Michelle's enthusiasm pours from the pages!!! I found myself nodding along and underlining so many points she made and realizing I have underlying fears that held me back and her steps to working through these are very eye opening. The pages have colorful quoted and interactive parts so I appreciated not having to pull out a journal or notebook but instead could make new yes within the chapters. I even read parts to my kids and they loved the fanciful look to the pages and I feel like this book can be beneficial for all ages. We are never too old to make life changes and never too young to start living fearlessly! I'm so inspired by Michelle's words, attitude and actions; we need more positive thinkers like her to shine her light!!  I received an advanced copy from Sourcebooks Publishing and these are my own thoughts and opinions.

I am an avid self-help book enthusiast. I’ve read self-help books by Rachel Hollis, Reshma Saujani, Jen Sincero, and Brené Brown, to name a few. I can confidently say that this is the self-help book I’ve been looking for to change my life. I had the fortunate honor of receiving an advanced copy of this book from the publisher. Hello, Fears is passionately energetic, practical, relatable, empowering, and interactive. If you do a quick Google search for “Michelle Poler,” you will find that she’s lively and humorous, both qualities that translate into how she tells her story throughout the book. Second, Hello, Fears, offers practical advice for getting comfortable with being uncomfortable and facing your fears. Michelle’s fear-facing strategies are realistic and widely applicable to any reader. As Michelle shares her experiences throughout Hello, Fears, her crafted storytelling makes her feel relatable. She invites readers to get to know her by being authentic, honest, and vulnerable and connects with readers in a way that makes it feel as if you are having conversations with an old friend. Lastly, Hello, Fears, is unapologetically empowering and interactive. Thought-provoking exercises are included throughout the book to enhance the message behind Michelle’s story and reinforce her challenge to readers – to find happiness and face what scares us most. Aside from the content of the book, Hello, Fears, is beautifully put together and represents Michelle’s vibrant personality. The pages of the book are covered in bright colors, inspirational quotes, and eye-catching visuals. I can’t recommend this book enough to anybody and everybody! There is something for everyone written in these pages that will allow you to take steps towards living bravely and achieving a more authentic, happier life.

Encouraging, beautiful reminder that YOU are the boss of your fears and insecurities. Poler has crafted a hopeful book that helps the reader identify their challenges and how they can be crushed. Poler is exuberant and relatable. She offers practical advice from her experiences and nudges the reader to take stock of their own lives, sifting through both the positive and negative to see the possibilities that exist therein. This book would be a great gift for a graduate or someone who is stepping into a new phase of life. I think the lessons in this book apply to just about anyone. I was an early reader and all opinions are my own honest thoughts. Don't miss out on this beautifully designed call to action!

I'm almost done reading this book and Michelle is as real and transparent as they come. This book will not teach you how to be "fearless". Don't get it twisted. It will teach you how to be BRAVE, how to have courage to face your fears. I love this distinction. Fearless implies that you don't have any fears, which I don't believe is true for any of us. I also was able to understand that all of my biggest fears stem from 2 main ones: Embarrassment and Rejection. Michelle is right on the money with this. *I received an ARC from the publisher for review. This in no way influenced my opinion.*

I'm almost finished with Hello Fears and am so glad I discovered this book! Michelle is so down to earth in her writing style that I feel like she is actually talking to me one on one. She is so relatable and the graphics in this book are amazing. As someone who is often controlled by fear, I have found so much value in hearing someone's experience of facing fears. Fear is universal, so anyone will gain something from reading her work! A special thanks to the publisher for the advanced reader copy I am enjoying!
