It was great while it lasted. I just read a bunch of reviews and it looks like there's died too within a year mine died within 6 months. I'm so glad I didn't pay full price for mine I got it through a PSO program.

The thermostat works great but I have one problem. We set it 78 degrees, and it is very comfortable in the house. We had set our former thermostat (not Honeywell) at 74 and were a little warm at times (we didn't lower it to save energy). I have checked the thermostat reading with 2 other thermometers, both very near the thermostat, and there is a 4-to-6-degree difference, the T5 is higher. I don't know how else to test it, and if the temperature reading is wrong, I don't know how to fix it. I can't believe it is 78 degrees in the house when 2 other thermometers are reading between 72 and 74 degrees.

Our thermostats use the ambient and radiant temperature for the indoor temperature display, so this reading may differ from conventional thermometers. To ensure your resideo thermostat is displaying the correct indoor temperature, please verify there is insulation behind the thermostat wall plate, that there are no drafts within the wall, that the thermostat is not exposed to direct sunlight and that it is distanced from electronics such as TV’s and lights.

Support for getting the app set up SUCKS! I had the thermostat professionally installed, and it works just fine. But the whole point of me switching to this one was the ability to use my phone to turn it on and off, and set temperature. I have yet to to be able to figure how to do that. 💯 do not recommend.

Stay away
Thought this would be a good upgrade by adding wifi and the ability to monitor and control remotely. Well! It's 4 days now and the app is still trying to sync. No wifi issues with the therm, but this is app is amateur level at best. Working with support but going nowhere. Their best advice is sit and wait and hopefully after the next firmware update, the app will work. Right. Moving on! Not worth the time and effort.

Crashes from internet connection. Do not recommend
Works unless it's connected to the internet. Then it crashes. Disconnect from the internet, it works fine as a regular thermostat. Unfortunately, it can only be setup on a schedule using the app and since it's crashes on the internet, i can't use the schedule feature.

Complicated technology.
Installed with a new AC system. Programing the unit is extremely difficult. Took the AC tech 2 hours to finally get it set up. It has preset features that should have been an add choice for the customer.

Not Apple HomeKit compliant
I just installed this and it’s working great. I went to integrate it with my Apple Home network as the packaging and this site both say it can do and it doesn’t work. This is not compatible with Apple HomeKit. I’m not sure how they justify outright lying to customers.

Temperature is off by 2 degrees.
Bought the T5 smart control. The temperature is off by 2 degrees and there appears to be no calibration instructions anywhere.

Don’t buy. Nothing but a headache.
I have this for several years. Anytime I update my network it is a several hour chore to get these 2 stupid thermostats to reconnect to the updated network. Don’t by this one. It’s time I replace these with something that work how it’s supposed to.

We just love this thermostat as it will be saving us loads of money from lower energy usage. I can now adjust the temperatures at our home in Destin, FL area, even from our house in Illinois. Went I am not at the Florida home I can adjust the temps to reflect the current temps at the home. This even tells me when to clean the air filters, as we use K & N filters, that can be cleaned for many years of usage. I can even turn on the air conditioning or heat on the road to be comfortable when I get there.

Worst product in human history
At least 6 to 12 times a day getting messed Having trouble with connection to Internet. Changed 5 routers and access points, but same issue. Worst product in my whole life I ever bought. Please save yourself from this junk.

The Temperature that is shown on my screen is no where close to correct temp in the house. I placed a hand held thermometer next to the T-stat and it was about 15 degrees warmer on the display than it was on the hand held. Is there a way to Calibrate this model? Any help would be great! This is why I only gave it 3 Stars.

No Alexa voice command.
Thermostat device works as a thermostat should. The wifi phone app is OK. I can program and set device from my smart phone. The big disappointment is, the main reason for me installing this thermostat is for the ability to controal temperature change through alexas voice command. Alexa is unable to find the device. I am disabled and I'm either cold, hot but now always miserable because I'm unable to use voice command after paying so much money to have my device installed.

Garbage
We had this unit for 5 yrs. Initially it worked ok. But the connection to the WiFi network started to fail. The app was useless, the display would go blank for several minutes, then turn back on. That behavior was getting more frequent as time wore on. I replaced this “Smart" thermostat with a manual thermostat. The only "digital" on it is the temperature. I would not recommend this thermostat.

Good features, too short run time
T5 thermostat works well and is mostly easy to use. My only concern is that the run time is too short. There does not appear to be any way to change it. It tries to maintain the exact temperature causing it to start up run for a few minutes, and then it shuts off. The system should run longer for efficiency.

Works great and looks nice
I have 3 of these and they work fine. Initially one of them lost wifi connectivity, but I determined it had a low wifi signal and replaced my wifi router to compensate, which improved connectivity to other devices (e.g. a Google Nest camera) as well. Its great to be able to monitor and adjust temperature when away from the house, and also to see daily run times in the app. I'd like it if the app would show average outdoor temperature for each day, as well as run time.

Disposable unit with poor quality (replaced 4)
After installing two new HVAC units in my home over the past 5 years, the HVAC company supplied T5 thermostats as part of a Lenox bundle. In addition, my power company (AEP/PSO) offered T5s as part of a peak demand savings program. I bought a total of 4 T5s (2 spares) thinking I would have backup if one failed. Over the past 5 yrs, all of the units have failed on average after 2 years of service. I cannot get a warranty replacement because these units were purchased from HVAC and power company. If anyone from Resideo / Honeywell would like to respond to this, I'm all ears. Otherwise, I'm moving on to another manufacturer.
