This product is marked gluten free, but also states it may contain wheat. It definitely shouldn't be marked as gluten free if it may contain wheat.

Hormel Thick Cut Bacon is a staple at our house. We use it for breakfast, on top of burgers and for many sandwiches we make. The thick cut is best because it has a real presence in anything you use it for. This bacon is highly recommended!

I still haven't purchased a better bacon locally (in the Twin Cities, MN). Especially true when baked in the oven. If you have the time, it's worth the wait. My mouth just started watering and it's the reason I can't give up pork (I like pigs and think they are too smart to be eaten, so I want to quit, but can't because of this dang bacon).

Sticks to itself, shreds when removing it from the package. Turns into bacon bits in the pan. Thin cut. The flavors remain in the pan. This is obviously a cost-optimized bacon with big profit margins. The whole experience of cooking and eating this bacon feels cheap. I've had much better generic bacon.

I want to say this must have been a bad batch of Hormel Black Label Thick Cut Bacon Slices 16 oz. It was terrible. 1) NOT thick cut 2) Very, Very Fatty- One half of each strip of the bacon was complete fat, except for I sliver toward the bottom of the slice that was about 2in long and 1/2 in wide was actual bacon, not fat. 3) I cut each slice in half before I cooked it to try and salvage some for my recipe. But as all bacon even that part had fat and it was very hard to cut because the fat was ripping and leaving me with not even a half on each slice 4) I ended up with less than 1/2 lb- which ended up costing me more than twice the price of the package. 5) I have bought Hormel bacon before- not at Target- I have never had this problem. Reading the reviews after the experience- I am guessing this was not just a bad batch. I know many people including myself rarely or never take the time to review a product.

Some of the worst bacon I've ever bought, cooked and eaten in my entire life. Does not fry up like normal bacon and made my hands and kitchen smell like play dough
