Hotel (DVD)(2001)

Directed and co-written by Mike Figgis ("Leaving Las Vegas"), this quirky thriller focuses on an English movie unit's attempts to film a big screen adaptation of the play "The Duchess of Malfi" at a run-down Venetian hotel. While the Brits are followed by a sleazy documentarian and his helpers, both crews become caught up in a series of strange occurrences that result in cannibalism, madness and death. Winning ensemble cast includes John Malkovich, Salma Hayek, Lucy Liu, David Schwimmer, Burt Reynolds, and Saffron Burrows. 111 min.
