Kids/Toddler measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Don’t have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Standing with feet together and back to a wall. Measure from floor to the top of the head.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

My son loves these! He smiles and wiggles every time we put it on him. They are so soft! They are very thick which works for us as his room gets colder than the rest of the house with the AC on. I just put him in a diaper and this to sleep and he does well. Not sure about the sizing it might run small. My son is 3 months old and underweight and the top part fits well. It is not stretchy at all so I am interested to see how it works as he puts on weight as it is advertised 0-6 months. The only thing that would make it better is a two way zipper and I would have liked for the label to have the Tog listed especially given it is so warm I think that would be helpful for parents.

Feels like I am holding a dreamy cloud when I hold my baby in this! :) It is also very warm-- too warm sometimes. :/ The sleeves are bulky and probably not quite SIDS safe. :/ As with most sleep sacks, it pulls a bit on baby's neck when she crawls around or tries to stand up. Baby is old enough (1 yr), so I usually just put the sleeves on, leave it unzipped, and just drape it over her like a blanket. ;)

This is soft, fluffy, and just gets better when washed. I put on my son because he's not good at keeping blankets on and I want him to stay warm in the winter. Going to buy a couple more. Such a safe, cozy, sleeping-bag-like option for a baby.
