Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Don’t have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Standing with feet together and back to a wall. Measure from floor to the top of the head.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

I bought this for my almost 2 daughter because she is getting to big for all the other ones. I loved the length, the reason I am honing it 3 stars is because if not washed in cold water it shrinks, A lot!! And it has little tiny strings all over. Other than that it keeps my baby warm.

Significantly smaller than the "boy" version

I bought this for my son, along with another one in a "boy" print. While this item is the same size on the label, and has the exact same weight/height guidelines as the "boy" one, this item is significantly smaller. It is only about 1.5 inches shorter, but the neck, arm length, arm width, and cuffs at the end of the sleeves are noticeably smaller. I am especially concerned about the neck and wrist openings being too small. It annoys the crap out of me that clothing sizes cannot be consistent, even within the same brand! Boy and girl babies are not different sizes or shapes - they're babies!

This sleep sack is perfect. It is so soft and the thickness is perfect for our daughter to keep her the right temperature all night. It does say 0-6 months/10-18lbs for the size, and I definitely say stick with the weight. We started with sleep sacks when she was 2 weeks old because she hated being swaddled, and this was too big for her as she was under 10lbs. She is now over 11lbs so we have been able to use this for a few weeks, and she loves it.

I Like The Print On This Sleep Sack. Absolutely Adorable. It Is Very Big And Roomy For My Baby And I Have To Roll The Sleeves Up A Bit. Love That It Zips Up From The Bottom And I Dont Have To Hook The Zipper Every Time I Put It On. There Is One Big Issue With This Sleeper And It Is That The Material Pills Terribly And Pulls Out Webs Of Elastic Material. Im Afraid My Baby Will Get It Caught Around His Fingers And Try To Eat It. I Cant Say I Would Order Another Hudson Baby Sleeper Because Of It. I Prefer The Fleece Baby Deedee Sleepers Over This One.

My 20 month old is in the 99th percentile for both height and weight and the 18-24 month size fits her perfectly. I bought two because we use it for bedtime and naps as well so I ended up needing a second one. Very reasonably priced. One of the ones I bought gets really pilly on the outside and has little elastic-y strings coming off of it but it's not like it's falling apart. More annoying than anything but I don't really care. The second one I bought is not doing this so far. But it's working perfectly for what we needed.

I love that it’s cotton and cozy with long sleeves, but the sizing is off. The 6-12 month is not long enough for my daughter but the 12-18 month is HUGE.

Perfect for my baby who loves to be warm, even better than the micro fleece ones made by Carter’s . I love that it has long sleeves. Super soft and a good thickness. One of the only things that helps him sleep through the night when he isn’t swaddled.
