Hunter Fans Gablecrest 1 - Light Pendant in Painted Concrete

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This light looks amazing! It was also very easy to install. Any home owner could do it. It brightened up our entryway very nicely. I’d reccomend the product to anyone. I will be buying more lights of the same brand moving forward.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ----- SUMMARY ----- Verdict: When I think of the Hunter brand, I think of ceiling fans. Only recently did I realize that they offer a variety of light fixtures. I wish I’d known sooner because the Hunter Gablecrest really impressed me. Now I want to replace a few other lights in my home with similarly styled Hunter light fixtures. When I unboxed the Hunter Gablecrest, I immediately noticed how well-designed and high-quality it was. I was excited to install it and thankfully the installation process was simple. If you like the style of the Hunter Gablecrest, I highly recommend you give it a try in your home. Pros: - Easy assembly and installation - Thorough instructions - Able to install as a pendant or flush mount light - High-quality and well-designed - Looks great in a variety of spaces Cons: - None ----- DETAILS ----- Assembly/Installation: Whether you choose to install the Hunter Gablecrest as a pendant or a flush mount light, assembly and installation are pretty simple. I appreciated the thorough instructions that explained how to assemble the light for either installation option. I chose to do the flush mount installation which basically involved removing the preinstalled swivel post from the canopy, reattaching the canopy with the washer and hex nut (included in the box), and trimming the wires to the desired length. The wires are very long, so you have plenty to work with. Tools you’ll need include a screwdriver, pliers, wire strippers, and a ladder/stool. Installing the light as a pendant requires a few extra steps like adding rods to obtain the desired length. In addition to a 6-inch rod, there are four 12-inch rods included that allow you to obtain a maximum height of 69.5 inches. The only necessary item not included is a lightbulb. Design: When you first open the box, it's apparent that the Hunter Gablecrest is a well-designed, high-quality light. It’s quite heavy for its size, indicative of the quality materials. It looks and feels high quality as well. As it says in the product description, I’d say the look is ideal for French country or farmhouse style spaces, but it’s such a great-looking light that it could go well in a wide variety of spaces. I have the “Painted Concrete - Rustic White” model. The outer, circular shape has a distressed finish, and the inside (as well as the canopy/mount and the poles) are a flat gray color. The light output is great, but that’s highly dependent on what type of bulb you use. It supports a maximum 60-watt light bulb or equivalent LED bulb. As I mentioned, there isn’t one included, but that’s not a dealbreaker for me. I’m really happy with the way it looks. It looks great and really went well with the remodel. I love It’s design. Andy husband loved how simple to put up it was.

Our ceilings there are only about 9 ft so we went with the shortest length to hang it which I believe is 13" and it looks beautiful! It's very southern rustic charm, with grey inner pieces and brushed white pieces on the outer part to make it look like wood. Honestly I would look great as pendant lights, it's not big enough for a large space but super cute no matter what.

It was very easy to install, if you have rewired a new light this will be no problem to install. We put it up flush,not with the extensions, due to the ceiling height

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful fixture great for dining area this picture was installed by my partner the perfect place was our dining area and it really sets the entire room apart from the rest of the house just with the fixture itself it’s a beautiful piece don’t hesitate to make this an addition we’re thinking of actually getting an additional two more for the space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We really love the look of this light, My wife called it "french country meets farmhouse". I think it looks fresh and clean and bright. We hung ours over the kitchen sink the colors in it match up with our newer fan and out newly painted cupboards perfectly! Out son is an electrician so it was really simple for him to install. It gives off a nice amount of light ! We love it!

All of my guests have not only complimented me on the light aesthetic aspect, but on it's practicality as well. It gives off ample light, especially for a large entryway and works great with higher ceilings as well. I love it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I both like the design of this light and are glad we got it. It does exactly what a light should do and takes a standard bulb so it will be easy to change if we ever need. I've installed 3 other lights in our house and this was as easy as the others, just turn off the power, take the old light down, wire this one up and then attach it to the bracket it comes with. The wire for the light is very long, I'm not sure why you would need it that long but it is easy to cut and I'm glad they made it too long instead of too short! You can adjust the hanging length easily by screwing more poles into it, and there is one small pole (around 6" long) which is as short as it can get and what I used in these pictures. There are only two things I wish were different. 1) Some of there other lights I've installed have a hook so you can hang it from the mount while you're wiring it up, this one did not come with that. It was still easy to install by sitting it on top of a ladder while wiring but if you don't have a ladder under it that will be harder. 2) The packaging uses terrible styrofoam, it was falling apart into little balls that stuck to everything. All over the light, the box, the floor, everywhere. This made the unboxing and installation annoying so I almost reduced a star...but I figure if this light lasts me for 10+ years then 30 minutes of dealing with the mess at the start doesn't justify losing a star. Overall this is a fantastic light, it is not hard to install (just messy) and it looks great!

We decided to hang this in the family room which has a high ceiling. My husband didn't seem to have that much of a problem installing it. The lights shines so perfectly! And it is so beautiful!
