Im not scared of monsters by Mike Byrne is an adorable story of a little girl that is not afraid of any monster. She meets one in the woods on a walk. She surprises the monster by saying how are you and that she is not afraid of it. Very surprised but determined the monster calls another friend. The little girl says the same thing and that monster calls a third monster friend. However the little girl is just not afraid and the monsters are perplexed. They ask her what she is afraid of and she describes it which happens to be a spider. One comes out of the woods and the three monsters and little girl scream, all scared. Her daddy comes running and explains to the little girl that the spider is probably more scare of them than they are of it. This is a story of overcoming our fear and learning. It is encouraging children to not be afraid of monsters and if there is something they are afraid of to learn about it. The illustrations are beautiful and bright. The monsters are the stars of their pages and not scary at all. About the Author

Mike Byrne began his career as a designer for a greeting card company. He went on to manage the studio of a stationery design firm before leaving to fulfill his dream of becoming a children's book illustrator. Mike has always been inspired by the magical worlds created by his favorite authors, and he aspires to write joyous, heartfelt stories for future generations of children. Mike lives in Surrey, England, with his wife and two sons. He spends most of his time doodling and illustrating children's books, fueled only by tea and biscuits.
