A: Thank you for your inquiry. This kayak is US Coast Guard ID - NMMA Certified. The manufacturer does not provide a recommendation for which bodies of water this would and would not work with.

Q: Can this also be operated by 1 person? Will the weight distribution in 1 seat rather than 2 cause any problems? Would like the option of 2 seats, but sometime one of us might want to take it out for a solo trip.

space behind back seat removable fin was nice
sturdy boat cheap price hit some rocks and kept going.it can also float with 2 people in it in really shallow water without fin.

Easy to setup, paddle, pump, bag included
Once I did a dry-run in the front yard, the next setup was probably 10 minutes. There are only 2 sections to inflate. It did not lose any air during use. I recommend the fin if you can use it: we launched in super-shallow water so we did not use it, so it was difficult to keep moving straight. The instructions were limited, so it took a bit of figuring out the first time to understand how to get the seats oriented correctly and get the seat backs to stand-up properly. I was unclear where the round grommets on the paddles go but it didn't seem to matter. Don't lose the clear flexible ruler that is used to check for proper inflation level! I pumped too rigorously the first time and the housing of the inflator popped-off, but it was undamaged - just screw it back on. (see image) Avoid this by screwing it on tightly before pumping and don't pull too hard at the end of the up motion. This is not too heavy for an adult to carry a pretty significant distance. I wore the bag like a backpack, although I might widen the straps so it is more comfortable on the hike. It was a bit hard to get all the water out before deflating. All parts fit into the provided bag quite easily.

Love
We bought one to try it out, and then bought a second (especially since the price is so reasonable). We’ve had a lot of fun and no issues. My husband and I both fit in one or me and my two kids (works really well since the front seat is optional). I was also able to carry it and go out by myself no problem. It’s so fast and easy to set them up! A bit of work to dry it and get it folded back up but definitely worth it for the overall convenience.

Impressive overall
Overall I was very impressed with the quality of this, my big draw back is the "seats". If you sit in the front seat you will have no back support of any kind which can kill the trip pretty quickly. The rear seat isn't as bad because you are supported by the body of the kayak itself. If I find a way to modify the front seat I'll have no complaints at all.

Took this out for the first time this week as we just received it. It really isn't that fast, it's more like a canoe if anything, but it served it's purpose. I wish there was a better way for the boat to be sturdier in the middle, as we found that we were really unbalanced in the canoe, and for two adult people, it was a little squishy. This is perfect for one person with gear. The front seat was horrible, and at first I though it was just me, but my partner then switched with me on the way back, and he also had bad back aches after we came to shore. There really isn't much lower lumbar support or support at all for the front user. The back seat was perfect, as there was support in the back with the rear boat area. Overall, this was an OK product, but there certainly can be more improvements for comfort and stability..

Great quality
We recently purchased this kayak. Very impressed with how easy it is to inflate. We've used it several times already.- both with only one person sitting in it and with two people. Our teenagers love it!!! Each time we are at the lake, we get lots of questions about it - everyone is jealous of our awesome kayak!!!!

We ordered the two person kayak so I could easily haul the boat by myself. I’ve been using it with my two children 5 and 2. So far we love it, easy to inflate and deflate. Everything fits back in The carry bag. Would definitely recommend for casual use.

Great Purchase
I am very happy with my purchase. It is thick and durable. I was nervous purchasing an inflatable kayak but I decided to anyway because I needed to transport it easy. I have taken it out almost everyday since I have got it(I live on a lake) and it is perfect! Great product!

the Challenger K2 is really easy to carry, set up and paddle. I'm 63 and hardly moved my heart rate getting out into the river. some fibreglass Yakkers I met were very impressed with the form and surprised at how little it cost. I'm looking forward to paddling with my sons, and heading into the ocean too, when wind and waves are suitable. thanks for a great product.

Fun for the whole family
We bought 3 double seaters so the whole family can enjoy them together. We love them! They are durable and steady in the water. Paddles are sturdy and lightweight. Even my 9 and 11 year olds can go out together. We could not go kayaking as a family without using inflatables because of the space required for transporting and storing that many kayaks. These are convenient for that.
However, I gave it only 4 stars because of the difficulty of putting them away. The deflation process and getting all the water out is a lot of work. I have yet to figure out a good way to remove all the water. I don’t want mold growth! (I’m open to suggestions)

Top compartment lost air upon 1 inflation
Inflated it in my living room at night. By morning, the top inflatable compartment had deflated, so I returned the product without ever putting it in the water.
I ordered 2 more to play the odds game. All 3 can't leak, right?
